Hello everyone,

It is another beautiful day to share with you the new update about the growth and development of my maize plants. The rain has been showering non-stop lately which has really alter the development of my maize plants.

As I get to my maize farm to check on the plants as I always do, then I noticed something on the tip of some of the maize plants. But later, I discovered that it is called corn 🌽 tassel and the maize plants must have reach a specific stage in their growth to produced it.

What is Tassel in maize plants

Tassel is the male flower of the maize plants and tassel usually comes out on top after the plants have reached a specific growth. The tassel sometimes varies in color but maize plants tassel color is yellow which is the most common color. The tassel is crucial to the development of the maize plants because it helps to produce pollen that alter the growth and ripening maize ear.

I am so happy that finally, my maize plants has reached the tassel stage and very soon the corn will started coming out and which means in some view weeks, the harvest time is around the corner.

I will be keeping you posted on the development of my maize plants and I am glad that it is some steps away to reach the harvest time.
