A beautiful corner of Da Nang center on Tet holiday

Hello everyone! How are you today? I hope all is well with you. Today is Friday and tomorrow we will start the weekend. Where do you want to go this weekend? So the Vietnamese people have spent 3 days of the Lunar New Year. Normally, Vietnamese people will celebrate 3 days of the Lunar New Year, in the first three days of the lunar calendar, after 3 days of Tet, there will be 7 days of spring. This year's Lunar New Year, Vietnamese people will have 5 days off and 4 more weekends, so everyone will have a total of 9 consecutive Lunar New Year holidays. After a year of work, all people will have a long time to rest after a year of hard work. The year 2021 can be a difficult year for everyone, in previous years, Vietnam was one of the countries least affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. new mutant Delta, things have begun to change. Entering the new year 2022 with the orientation of "Safely adapting, flexibly, effectively controlling the covid19 epidemic" to create favorable conditions for the operation of the economy, restore international flight routes, promote tourism, after more than two years being heavily affected by Covid-19. Today is also the first day I return to Da Nang city, after more than a week back home to celebrate the Lunar New Year with my family.

Many people told me that the Lunar New Year originated in China and has been introduced to Vietnam for hundreds of years. As everyone knows, Lunar New Year is an important holiday at the beginning of the year. The Lunar New Year is the first New Year celebration, according to the lunar calendar, of the ethnic groups of East Asia, including China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. After historical upheavals, the Japanese abandoned the Lunar New Year, and the Chinese, Koreans, and Vietnamese still keep the traditional New Year's Day, celebrating this New Year's celebration. Lunar New Year is an important holiday, both signaling the end of the old year and welcoming the new year, as well as an opportunity to pay respects to ancestors, grandparents, parents and wish each other the best.

In my previous articles, I wrote about some activities of the days leading up to the Vietnamese New Year in the countryside of Que Son, which is my hometown. Today, with the change of society, the concept of celebrating Tet of the city people and the countryside has many differences, for rural people, Tet is an occasion for family members to gather and reunite. , meet the old year, wish each other good luck in the new year. For the people of the city, Tet can be a day off after a year of work... In the culture of the country people, the Lunar New Year has long been one of the biggest annual holidays, more than anything. other holidays as well. Although life in the countryside is still difficult, everyone tries to prepare well to wait for a new year to come. In each village, the Tet market is the place that most clearly reflects the Tet atmosphere. The farmers market on the 29th of Tet is always bustling and noisy. Tet market opens from early morning to late afternoon with all kinds of products, in which mainly: bananas, pomelos, dong leaves, fruits... mainly "homegrown" that people put on the market to earn. money to buy Tet. Banh Chung and Banh tet are indispensable dishes of Vietnamese cuisine during the traditional Tet holiday. City people are used to ordering and buying cakes at shops, but for rural people, making Banh Chung is one of the most important jobs during Tet. Different from the concept of celebrating Tet in the countryside, the modern rhythm of life makes city people switch from the concept of celebrating Tet to playing Tet, the tendency to go on spring trips, to historical sites, to travel across regions. The standard of living of city dwellers is increasing day by day. They think that working days are busy, hard, and have little time to go out, so the Lunar New Year holidays are the right time to travel after a year of work. Then in today's post. I will write about some activities of the people of Da Nang city, during the Lunar New Year.

The place I want to introduce in today's article is Bach Dang flower street, located next to the romantic Han River. Han River is famous for its unique and impressive bridges that cross the river. It is an attractive destination when traveling in the center of Da Nang city. Visitors will especially feel that when admiring the beauty of the Han River at night. Da Nang is young and dynamic, and at night the scenery here is poetic. The streets on both sides of the river are brightly lit, the most prominent of which are the bridges connecting the two east-west banks. Under the twinkling lights, each bridge is a work of art of light, showing all the architectural lines and design ideas of each building. On the days of the Lunar New Year, the place that attracts all people when coming to Da Nang city on the days of the Lunar New Year is the southern bank of the Dragon Bridge. It is decorated with a lot of fresh flowers, the paths are planted with many beautiful flowers. On this trip, I went at night, so the pictures are of the flowers here. not that bright. But at night, this place is decorated with lights, many unique colors. The theme image of the 2022 New Year Flower Road is "Indochina Tigers" inspired by the image of a mountain tiger in Indochina. Details include its large body, sharp teeth, claws, and long tail. They all have the characteristics of Indochinese tigers, majestic, but also very tame. Along this section, there are flower streams, flower columns, flower buds, flower rivers, which are decorated on different flower beds. This year's Flower Street dedicates a space with the flavor of Valentine's Day (February 14), with the image of chairs with a single heart flower as a greeting, for those who are looking for love and who have been and are in love. At night, this place is decorated with a lot of led lights, to light up Bach Dang flower street, you can see a lot of people who love to take photos next to the flower decoration pedestals and lit led lights.

Below the dragon bridge is a tunnel, this road can help visitors cross the road without having to go on the bridge, this place is also decorated with many different flowers. At night, it is sold a lot. snacks of the people. The flower path ends with the image of a "forest" of yellow apricots showing off their vibrant colors associated with the magnificent scenery of the early spring meeting. Bach Dang flower road is the place where every Tet holiday most people will come here to take pictures and visit. As of today, Bach Dang flower street has been held in year 9. The first year was held in 2013 with the theme of snakes. By 2022, this place will be decorated mostly with images of tiger owners, this is the symbol of 2022.

Located close to Bach Dang flower street is APEC park. I wrote an article about the architecture here before but during a visit earlier this year during the Lunar New Year. This place has been lit with LED lights around the place. If yesterday, this place only lit up the high-flying kite area, today is the time when the APEC park architecture is lit up the entire area here. The water stations are decorated with colorful LED lights, these water stations are used according to the sound system. Every night, there will be performances of water music, although the size is not large, this also helps this place become more prominent than ever. Below the first floor of this building is the souvenir sales area, which was closed the day before, but is now open today. Inside the 1st floor, which has displayed pictures of Da Nang city over the past 25 years, I have recognized many of the artists in these photos. The author that I am extremely impressed with, in some of the pictures works here, must be mentioned is Huynh Van Truyen. Inside the first floor is planted with tropical plants, giving this place a green space. In the middle of the first floor is a place to decorate miniatures, so that visitors can take souvenir photos.

Above the 2nd floor of the APEC park is the high-flying kite, I have a lot of pictures in my previous post here. But today, this place has been installed all led lights. I tried using the wide-angle lens of my phone to capture the architecture "The kite flies high", I took advantage of the reflections of the mirrors and the colored stones here, to create mirror images. shadow. Looks pretty impressive. If in the previous article, there are many unfinished items here, then during the Lunar New Year the architecture of APEC park has been completed in general.

Standing from the 2nd floor of APEC park, you can easily see Da Nang city at night, the most prominent feature is the poetic Han river and the two outstanding bridges on this river are the bridge. Tran Thi Ly and Da Nang Dragon Bridge. If I look to the left-hand side of the APEC park, I can see a beautifully lit temple. I went to this temple, it was also the first temple I entered during this year's Lunar New Year. This temple is called An Long Pagoda, the pagoda is located behind the Cham Pa Sculpture Museum on the banks of the Han River, in Hai Chau District, Binh Hien Ward, Da Nang City. The temple belongs to the Northern sect. The temple was built by locals in 1657 called Long Thu Pagoda. The present pagoda was rebuilt in 1961 and renamed An Long pagoda. In the campus of An Long pagoda, located next to the Museum of Cham-Pa sculpture. Stele in the temple, symbolizing historical evidence. It is of great significance to the history of Da Nang and has been studied by historians. It is the stele of An Long pagoda. This is one of the oldest stone steles left in Da Nang today. The stele of An Long pagoda has been included in the list of historical relics by the Governor of Indochina, according to the Decree of 1925. From the outside, this temple is quite small, but inside this temple is very beautiful. It can be said that this is one of the first temples of Da Nang city. Lanterns, which are decorated throughout the temple, create a poetic setting for the temple. This temple is decorated with many different Buddha statues. Below the temple hall is the statue of Bodhisattva Quan The Am, with candles lit around. These candles represent the deceased and this is a way of remembering those who have passed.

The right-hand side of the temple is the main hall of this temple. The main hall consists of two floors. The first floor is the place to worship the abbots of the temple, the second floor is the place to pray for the Buddhists. Inside the 2nd floor main hall, decorated with a yellow tone, there are many Buddha statues in this main hall. Everything here is decorated beautifully and scientifically, the sophisticated carvings on the red pillars are very beautiful and artistic. There is a temple bell here, this bell is hundreds of years old, the ancient kanji words are still clearly visible on this bell. This temple is lit with beautiful lights, this is the first time I have set foot in this temple, but after visiting this temple, I have understood a lot more about this ancient temple. After visiting this temple, I started going back to my home. The streets of Da Nang during the Lunar New Year holidays are quite crowded than normal days, you can see that Tet in the countryside and Tet in the city have many different points, right? If Tet is the place where people return to their hometown to reunite with their families, the city's Tet becomes more vibrant than ever. Each place has different customs, but Tet is the beginning of an upcoming year.
