Ok, that's enough silver photo porn for today! Let's see if we can learn anything interesting about silver with the help of chatgbt!

Tell me something weird about silver

Here's a weird fact about silver: it is one of the few elemental metals that is naturally colored. While most metals are silver or gray in color, silver is a lustrous white metal that has a distinctive appearance. The color of silver is caused by the way it reflects and scatters light, and it is often used in jewelry and decorative objects because of its bright and shiny appearance.

Another interesting fact about silver is that it is a very soft metal and can be easily damaged or deformed. This makes it difficult to work with and shapes it into objects, which is why it is usually combined with other metals to create alloys that are stronger and more durable. Silver alloys are used in a wide range of applications, including coins, jewelry, and electrical contacts.

Finally, silver has a number of unique chemical properties that make it useful in a variety of industrial and medicinal applications. For example, silver is highly reactive and can be used to create a wide range of compounds, including silver compounds that are used in photography and silver compounds that are used as disinfectants and antimicrobials.

That's was quite informational actually!

If you eat with those spoons, do you eat money? That AI of yours is too formal. I think it lacks spark.

Did you know the term "80 silver" is often used to describe lower-grade silverware that is not made of pure silver or sterling silver. It is important to note that the term "80 silver" does not have any official meaning or standard in the jewelry or silverware industry, and it is not a term that is used consistently. I have not ventured into silverware but your post just made me go down the rabbit hole trying to understand how its sold so I can look at buying.

Yeah I just googled 80 because I saw you pointed it out in the photo. i did not realize that that was used to classify spoons. I thought they were all called sterling which is just wrong on my part.

Good info there, silver spoons make for a great family heirloom. It's where the phrase "born with a silver spoon in their mouth" comes from.
