Public sector at its finest!

Ahhhh the beloved public sector. Always so fast. So reliable. So productive. So cost effective! 🤣

I am sure we all have countless stories to recall of nothing but satisfaction.

And this one such story that recently appeared on media. A story of public sector at its finest. A story that gives literal meaning to the term "snail mail".

The letter above was sent in...1916 and arrived on its intended destination... More then 100 years later 🤣

And no, you are not getting a deja Vu. It's life imitating art

In this case though, the intended receiver was long dead and the letter ended up on the hands of some Finlay Glen fella

“We noticed that the year on it was ’16. So we thought it was 2016. Then we noticed that the stamp was a King rather than a Queen, so we felt that it couldn’t have been 2016.”

Yes, the letter was sent in 1916 in the midst of world war II. The sender was Christabel Mennel, the daughter of tea merchant Henry Tuke Mennel, while she was on holiday in Bath, and is the typical letter you'd expect from a spoiled little brat bitching about everything.

Dear Kate, men literally puke their lungs out from mustard gas but I got a cold that ruined my spa. Boohoo, my life sucks (slightly paraphased by me)

So, next time your mail is late thank the gods it's not THAT late. By the time this letter reached the intended destination, the receiver was long dead and their body had dissolved into nothingness.

I don't know about the public sector in Greece, but that if Nigeria is comparable to this one, hahaha, crazy isn't it.
