Gladiator but with a volcano!
Some months ago Netflix was on a spree, recommending me one gem after the other. Unfortunately, these days the recommendations seem to be more on the... poop side 🤣 Like the shitty Brothers movie I watched a few days ago.
The next recommendation, Pompeii from 2014, wasn't any better and honestly I wish I had checked the IMDb ratings cause I would have skipped it.
Unfortunately, the cute face of Kit Harington (Jon Snow) convinced me it would be a decent watch and I hit the play button immediately. Silly me 🙄
As many others have commented before me the movie is essentially a remake of the Gladiator... but with a volcano. Nothing more. Nothing less. 🤣
And unfortunately it's not as good as the gladiator when it comes to the fights and shit. And neither is it a great disaster movie.
And if you expect any historical accuracy, I am sorry but you will be greatly disappointed too.
Other than that, the acting was imo okay and I really enjoyed the black fella character. Same for the imagery and visuals effects. Okayish but nothing mind blowing.
All in all, an okayish yet totally forgetable movie to kill 90 minutes of your life.
Feel free to skip it. Especially if you have seen the gladiator! 5/10

Kit Harington is a brilliant actor, but I guess that's what some directors do; use foods actors to sell bad stories.

Gladiator is a great movie. Perhaps this one is at least watchable !

Well I saw that movie years ago and I remember that I didn´t know about games of thrones by that time, And not recognize the actor that played the main character but your explanation is all a new viewer has to know about that movie
