Fresh Gold For The Stack π
As you have probably noticed from my posts I like to stack silver for the past few years.
One of the main reasons behind that is that I have inherited a respectable amount of gold from my family so I would like to leave to my heirs something precious as well.
Now, most of the gold I have inherited is in the form of wearables, like jewelry, crosses, rings etc. My parents are still alive so I haven't received yet all of my share, and hopefully it will take a long time until I do.. if you know what I mean π
Yet, they will occasionally hand me out a piece or two and today I got one I have been eyeballing for a while π π
A beautiful 0.525 (14 karats) cross with a nice 3d effect. Simple and elegant just the way I like it π
Ok, let's see some pics:
The chain is golden as well as indicated by the 585 marking. There are two more markings. "9.76" and "3.7", no idea what those mean, feel free to hit me in the comments if you do!
Ok, some more shots
And one with my beloved gold backs !
I am expecting to get a few more of those nice pieces of paper very soon, hopefully this week. I can't wait for them ππ»
Ok, I think this is enough gold porn for the day. More soon π€
Stack on plebs!

Sweet, sweet gold! That's a nice little cross and chain. Not sure what the two extra stamps are though. I'm sure someone will know for sure here in SGS!

Yeah I hope someone can indulge my curiosity

The clasp is definitely not gold, probably 5 micron 14K gold plated, I would check chain and cross with a tester or in a jeweller if you don't have the liquids at home, definitely odd markings on that piece. Other than that, nice design, pretty atemporal :-)
Apparently 9.76 indicates chain something

I'll probably test th chain but definitely not the cross. I don't want to ruin it, and it's from a refutable seller so I hope it's not fake. If it is, it is. Lol
The cross seems ok, though I don't usually like 14K because the funny hue, I'm 18K all way baby π
Beautiful cross, and nice chunky chain too! Maybe your kids will keep it and pass it on to their kids. An heirloom for generations.
Until some ungrateful bastard blows it on hookers and cocaine π

Works of Art will always be worth more than their Melt Value... The Melt Value of Gold "will be" $90 per ounce, but a person can turn that ounce of Gold into a Work of Art, and earn a Profit...
Looks a pretty heavy piece of jewellery! Love those gold backs. Thx for the porn
That's a great looking cross. I can oly speculate about the 2 numbers, maybe it has to do with plating thickness, or link size?
Oh yes seems you are right. 9.76 mm!

Thatβs a really cool cross. I had a chain from Turkey once that had weird numbers like that on it. I asked the jeweler about them. He told me the answer but Iβm old and forgot what it was.
Alzheimer's does that

On chains and necklaces β the hallmark is located near or on the clasp. A fineness mark is stamped as a three-digit number that indicates the percentage of gold in the item. The β585β stamped on a piece of gold jewelry indicates the jewelry contains 58.3% pure gold (and 41.7% alloy) or 14k. Is the cross stamped with a hallmark?
It is beautiful!

No Hallmark on the cross, makes sense though it's on the clasp not to ruin the main piece!
Nice one @trumpman !

Nice cross. I think it works well as something that you can pass down to your kids, family or friends.
Beautiful chain, some people get upset when they see a pendant like this, I mean the cross, really talking about politics and religion raises thorns, I like the cross, in fact it seems to me a symbol of protection.
I wish you a happy day
