What's up fellow plebs?

Continuing the break from German coins, today I present you a piece from the United kingdom:

Some nice toning going on :)

As you can see, the obverse features a portrait of King George VI. I have talked about him a couple times in the past in other British coins so I will leave you with a Wikipedia link instead this time, in the off chance you want to educate yourself on him 😂

In the reverse we have a common symbol in the UK in several variations, a crowned Tudor rose flanked by thistle and shamrock, representing
the union of the four nations that make up the United Kingdom. Once again, this is a topic I have covered in the past, feel free to click here if you want to learn more!

And now let's take a look on the edge:

Sadly, nothing special 😔

When it comes to silver we have a stingy purity of 0.500, with a total weight of 11.31 g. As always, here are some more boring semantics from Numista

Issuer United Kingdom (United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies)
King George VI (1936-1952)
Type Standard circulation coin
Years 1937-1946
Value 2 Shillings (⅒)
Currency Pound sterling (1158-1970)
Composition Silver (.500)
Weight 11.31 g
Diameter 28.5 mm
Thickness 2.1 mm
Shape Round
Technique Milled
Orientation Medal alignment ↑↑
Demonetized 30 June 1993

All in all, a basic standard circulation coin from the UK. There's really nothing special to see our say. Just another piece for the stack

And here are some more shots I took

Stack on!

That’s in really nice shape. It’s got some weird hazing on the front. But it’s got great detail

For some odd reason, the phone call joke of 'Do you have Prince George in a can?' didn't work as well as 'Do you have Prince Albert in a can?' did. 🤷 Some Brits can sure get boring.

Nice coin. I still think shillings is an interesting name for a coin though. I always think think of the other meaning of shilling where people are promoting shit.
