Been a while since I have done one of those posts. It's not like I have not been getting any silver all this time, I still keep stacking on a regular basis. But most of the stuff I have been getting lately are pieces I already own. So there's really nothing much new to show off 🤗

But two days ago I finally got some fresh stuff for the collection:

So here's the quick gist of what I got this time:

  • 100 Yen, 4.8 g, 0.600, Japan
  • 50 Centimos 1904, 2.5 g, 0.835, Spain
  • 25 Centavos 1953, 6.25 g, 0.900, Cuba
  • 20 Centavos 1952, 5 g, 0.909, Cuba
  • 25 Piastres 1970, 6 g, 0.720, Egypt
  • 1 Dirham 1960, 6 g, 0.600, Marroco
  • 200 Lei 1942, 6 g, 0.835, Rumania
  • 1/5 De Sol 1900, 5 g, 0.900, Peru
  • 2 Shillings 1937, 11.31 g, 0.500, United kingdom

Lots of pieces from lots of places. A good haul for a pleb like me :)

I hate to admit it, but I did pay more than I wanted, something around 20 % over spot, but I did get the coin capsules for free which somewhat sweetened the deal. 😄🤝

I guess eventually I will be making a dedicated post for each of these little treasures, but it's gonna be a while since I already have a huge backlog of coins I'd like to cover. A backlog that only gets bigger. I guess that's a good problem to have.

Another thing I was considering lately was to make a thorough excel spreadsheet with a list of all my coins but damn... That would take like forever. Maybe one day. 😄

Anyways, this is it for today. Stay tuned, I think I'll have another sexy mail call next week thanks to a fellow hiver. Now that's something I really can't wait for 🤗🤗🤗

They had a great economy before Castro took over. Casino's everywhere and tourists from around the world. They produced huge amounts of sugar cane and Bacardi Rum was founded there. Once the revolution happened anyone with money left as quickly as possible. Bacardi moved operations to Puerto Rico!

These were nice american quality capsules. Temu ones are really cheap indeed and I use them as well for my shitty silver but apparently they "leak" dirty chemicals on coins. Or so I hear. Tbh, they even feel cheap and shitty

Air-tite plastic cases protect your coin much better then the cardboard or Mylar flips do. But you need to buy ones that fit your coins properly. If the coin can bounce around in the capsule it can damage the edges.

We were talking about the shitty ones from china that are super cheap. I hear the chemically react with the surface of coins and fuck em up a bit. Have you heard anything about that?

I don’t know what those are made from but the Air-rite brand ones aren’t expensive and are perfectly safe for coins.

D*mn, because every day reading posts from @bitcoinman I'm curious about #silvergoldstackers. That led me to read some SGS members' posts that made me want to have a coin collection too.

I'm curious, what do you or other SGS members consider when buying these coins? Is it the material? The design, or something else?

Maybe you can give me some advice on stacking coins.

Everyone's different. I usually go for the cheapest I can find, which means I don't get much choice on design and stuff lol. But sometimes I'll pay the extra buck to buy something I really like
