Exactly 7 years ago I was attacked by my friend's cat! It was an incredibly horrible day for me...

15 years ago, while visiting a historical place with my friend, we found a small cat that was dying. Blood was coming out of the cat's anus, so it was very unlikely to live, but we still couldn't leave it there and brought it to my friend's house. At that time, we were inexperienced and didn't know what to do, so we just thought of taking it home.

We brought the cat home and immediately put it in the bathroom. The dirt and blood had dried on its body and we wanted to clean it with warm water, but because we were both very emotional, we couldn't stop crying and wash the cat. We were so upset with the cat that we kept crying until we got home. Finally, I managed to pull myself together and wash it gently. We immediately dried it with a towel, cleaned it and fed it. Even that was enough to make it better! Then my friend's mom came and took him to the vet and after all the treatment was done, they adopted him completely and they have been living together for 15 years. 🤍

WHY DID I TELL THIS STORY?

My friend and I have been together since childhood and we spend every moment together. I used to stay with them on certain days of the week, but about 7 years ago my friend moved to a town 2 hours away from the city. So I started to go to them less and less and her cat started to see me less and less. 7 years ago I went to the village to stay with them. At night my friend and I slept in the same bed. (As usual!) During the night her cat suddenly jumped on me and bit me. In a drowsy state, I couldn't understand what had happened and went back to sleep, scared again. In the morning, when I went downstairs to the house, the cat came down with me.

THAT MOMENT!

When we both went downstairs, it suddenly attacked me! I was shocked and really scared at that moment. My feet and legs were covered in blood and I was so scared I couldn't move. My friend came down and took him away. With the shock I experienced, I immediately left and came home.

Unfortunately, this fear traumatized me and after that day I could not have any contact with any cat. When I see a cat on the road, I change my path. I live in Istanbul and most people know very well that Istanbul is a cat city. There are cats everywhere! There are cats in restaurants, on the streets, even in hospitals. When you go out on the street, you will meet many cats. In a city like this, the cat tram is a real nuisance! My life has been very difficult for 7 years. Every time I see a cat I think it is going to attack me and that fear I have is constantly surfacing. I have the same fear every time I see a cat. I haven't had any therapy about it yet, I'm trying to overcome it with my own efforts, but I haven't made any progress yet!

I AM TRYING...

Today I was invited to my sisters' house for dinner. They have a very sweet and docile cat. He is in close contact with the children and has never shown any aggressive behavior before. So he is completely safe! I thought it was the right time to try my luck and made my move.

We had a long look from a distance beforehand. I think he noticed something strange about me and started to watch me in a slightly threatening way.

With some cautious movements I slowly approached and tried to make contact with her. And yes I did! What happened? This sweet innocent looking kitty that I thought was completely SAFE suddenly bit me!

Yes she bit me! But at least I tried and this time I was bitten instead of scratched. Why did she bite? I thought she would scratch. I think I was so scared that my aura was filled with fear energy and the room perceived this energy as a threat. Anyway, nothing happened, I just got another 7 years warranty. Welcome new Trauma!
