We visited a lavender field, amazing tourist destination in Mailat, Romania
Hello friends from everywhere
Do you like the scent of lavender or the products made from lavender?
Frankly, I'm crazy about the smell of lavender.
So today we will go together to visit a lavender field and at the same time an event dedicated to natural products made especially from lavender.
The event is called Pick-U Lavandair and reading some information about the event I discovered that there will be local producers who will be present to present their products to those who will be present.
Oh let me not forget, a few days before attending the event I filled out an online form and registered for the event, because the organizers wanted their visitors to quietly enjoy the beauty of the lavender field in a controlled number without creating noise, noisy or crowded in certain points of the lavender field.
Due to the very high number of registrations the event took place during three days, the lavender field could actually only be visited during these three days, after these days the owners were going to carry out the harvesting works.
After more than an hour by car we arrive in Mailat commune where right from the entrance of the commune we see signs showing the direction to the event, the event was actually taking place on the field. It was relatively easy to get there.
We had arrived around 6 pm after dinner just to catch a sunset right here in the lavender field, although the place was quite crowded we easily found a parking space.
We had never been to an event like this before, so, with small steps, we made our way to the entrance, where the owners greeted us (they knew we were coming because of the form we filled out online) and we were given a pair of scissors and a cardboard bag to pick our lavender and, of course, take it home.
The first time we chose to take in line the stalls there and see what products would be useful, at each stall you had the opportunity to taste the products, after many tastings we decided to buy a jar of honey.
I don't know what heaven looks like but after the first steps through the lavender field I had the feeling that I had arrived there, by the way the lavender crop area was 50,000 square meters.
After adding honey and a few other things to our backpack we actually walked through the lavender field.
The owners set up many places through the lavender fields where you could take special photos that will stay in your mind for a long time, that's what we did.
After more than an hour we succeeded in what we had set out to do, to take pictures at sunset in the lavender field.
My dears if you have read my post so far I thank you and I end our walk through the lavender field here.
THE END!

I just published about Lavender too but it's in our garden. Hahaha! It's so therapeutic.
I am crazy about the scent of lavender, and now that I had the chance to visit this lavender field I took advantage of it.
And yes, lavender is perfect for aromatherapy and many other uses.
Thanks for stopping by.
And you have great photos over there :)
I'm glad you liked them.
Haha yes, I really want to go to Lavender Fields but it's kinda far in Provence unless we need to be there by car.
I also went to this event by car because it was a longer distance and there was no public transportation.
that's awesome :)

I have visited Lavender field once in Ukraine and it was really pleasant. The intense fragrance of thousands of lavenders is just die for... It's so beautiful...
Lately I have noticed that some landowners in Romania have also chosen to grow lavender and have turned lavender fields into real tourist attractions.
Living in the countryside I had the opportunity to plant my own lavender, and yes, the smell is sensational.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Yes, and it is actually a good seasonal business...
😉
Lavander fields are always so charming we had some lavanders field very popular in my area too, but I this the best lavanders fields are in France ❤️
Indeed, in France we find those amazing fields of lavender, but also here in Romania, some landowners have started to open their family business growing lavender.
I must admit that I'm a big lavender lover too.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Lovely photos. Lavender fields are so photogenic aren't they? They're really tolerant of the dry as well - they go well amongst the natives in my garden and the bees love them.
I'm so glad you liked the pictures of the lavender field, I'm crazy about the smell of lavender, and yes, I have lavender in my garden too.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I can literally smell the lovely lavender smell from your pictures :) Amazing place. I know these lavender fields are mostly known from Provence, France but lately, they have been popping up in many other places too. There are some lavender fields in my country as well but I haven´t visited them yet.

It's so good to see you here again, I was really worried at one point, but yes you're right those lavender fields are specific to certain areas of France.
In recent years, many lavender fields have sprung up in Romania, not only for their beauty, but also because they have become a very profitable business.
The owners not only transform the lavender field into a tourist attraction but also process the lavender into natural products which are highly appreciated in many places in Romania and even in Europe.
Thank you very much for your visit.
No worries my friend, I´m still here, I just don´t post ;)
Glad to hear that, have a wonderful week ahead my friend.
Beautiful photos!💜
Thank you very much.
