Hello beautiful community

I am very happy to be here with a first post since Heritage was taken over by the new management and yes for this first post I chose to share with you an amazing place.

The story started from my home with a very nice drive to the central park area in Buzias, the drive took about an hour and a half, there was a festival going on in the area but even so we managed to find a place for the car quickly enough.

Come with me on the trail of Empress Sisi.

In the title of the post I mentioned the word Colonnade, so I have to tell you what it means.

The colonnade is a wooden construction that was built around the central park with a length of about 500 meters, it was built by Emperor Franz Josef around 1875 especially for his wife Sisi.

34 kilometres from Timișoara is the resort of Buziaș, where the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife, Empress Elisabeth, used to come for mineral water cures and fresh air.
On Emperor Franz Joseph's orders, a colonnade was built in Buziaș in 1875 to make Empress Sisi's walks in the park more pleasant.
The colonnade in Buziaș was built of wood, in Byzantine style, and surrounds the park of the resort, measuring 500 meters in total.
The Buziaș colonnade is the longest such construction, surpassing those of Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) and Baden-Baden (Germany), which it resembles.

This place was unfortunately forgotten over time by the local authorities who did not take care of it, as proof is this iconic building, but I am also very glad that this Colonada was restored a few years ago.

This place is still used today for walking just as Empress Sisi used to use it.
