Say goodbye to hangovers with this antidote

Hello weekend consumers

And this weekend promises to be a promising one and I couldn't stay away and wrote a few lines here.

In today's post I will share with you a remedy to get rid of a hangover by drinking a liquid, I won't tell you what it is yet.

I don't know if there's a person on this planet who hasn't been hungover at least once in his life, or who hasn't experienced the feeling of hangover, look, I drink alcohol very rarely (here I mean maximum 3 times a year) I was caught in the alcohol spell and the next day I was hungover, more I had a terrible headache, but wait I have the antidote, another natural one.

I know the benefits of this "natural antidote" for a very long time, I heard about it from my grandparents, they told me that their parents also used it, so we can say that it has been known for many years.

You know, we live in the countryside and here in Romania we have a traditional dish, I honestly don't know where else in the world, and yes, it is called "SARMALE".

What are sarmale?

First of all, to make sarmale we need minced pork (or beef) and spices (salt, pepper, thyme), after homogenization a stuffing is formed, which will be put in a pickled cabbage leaf.

Here is the key.

Cabbage needs to sit in a barrel for quite a long time (almost two months) in water, salt, corn kernels and dill, all of which will help the cabbage to pickled and take on a special flavor.

The miraculous antidote against hangover is the same juice after the cabbage is pickled, as I wrote above it was also used by my grandparents' parents, you realize that at that time in the country there was no pharmacy or any person who had any remedy for hangover or for any other situation, to go to the doctor you had to walk a few kilometers on foot or by cart.

The pictures that I have attached to this post are taken by me right in the basement of the house where we have these barrels full of pickled cabbage, now as a hangover cure we use it less instead pickled cabbage is delicious for sarmale or even for different salads.

You can drink the juice straight from the barrel or if you don't like how it looks in the barrel you can strain it, the taste is the same.

That's an interesting sounding dish. It sounds good to me. I would try it for sure. Maybe even give myself a hangover on purpose just to test it 😂

You know, 35 years ago, maybe even before the 1989 revolution, here in Romania, in the countryside, in every country house you could certainly find a barrel of pickled cabbage, moreover in the peasant houses there was a template where every Sunday they prepared those ,,sarmale,, , but also roast pork or chicken.

These dishes were always followed by a glass of "țuică", a distilled drink made from fermented plums, but sometimes people didn't stop at one glass and continued until morning.

Do you realize that the next day they woke up with hangovers or headaches and then they turned to that juice from the pickled cabbage barrels exactly what I wrote about in my post.
