Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain), one of the most emblematic places in Rome, Italy
Hello virtual friends
I'm glad to be among you again and share with you one of my last experiences I had in Rome, Italy.
Yes I got carried away by the Italian capital and of course I wanted to test the local life, I don't know if I succeeded completely but after three days spent here I can say that I filled my batteries and left there with unforgettable memories.
Hey guys I can't believe I'm in Rome!
Another dream come true.
I flew from Budapest to Fiumicino airport (FCO) Italy, I don't know why, but I expected the airport in Italy to be quite small but surprise the airport is huge structured on several terminals (so if somehow you arrive here be careful from which terminal you take off).
From Fiumicino airport to the city centre we took a fast train called Leonardo Express (14euro/person one way) which does not stop at any station, its route being Fiumicino - Termini station.
From Termini train station we took a bus (the local public transport company is called ATAC) which dropped us somewhere 150m from the hotel where we had our accommodation.
There are two other ways to get from the airport to the city centre, the cheapest is by train which stops at all stations between the airport and Termini station (7euro/person one way) and the most expensive transfer is by taxi which costs 50 euro (all taxis have this fixed price).
Public transport is very well set up in Rome, we only used the bus and it was very cheap at around 1,5euro per day.
About our accommodation I will talk to you in another post today I want to introduce you to one of the most emblematic places in Rome and I think in the world, I am curious how many of the visitors of my post have heard or even visited this place.
We arrived at the hotel around 9 am and although check-in was after 3 pm we were lucky and could check in much faster (here we met some very hospitable people).
I hadn't even unpacked my luggage yet, as I was already on my way to the bus stop for the Trevi Fountain.
From the bus stop next to the hotel we took bus 628 for a few stops after which we had to walk, and yes, in the three days we walked a lot.
After a few minutes of walking through the narrow streets full of souvenir shops and tourists, it felt like all of Italy was visiting the fountain at that moment, hehe.
Finally I can't believe we're right in front of the fountain.
Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain) is located in Trevi square at the intersection of three streets, in the middle of the fountain is the god Neptune, this fountain also has a legend that says that if you throw a coin over your head in the fountain water you will return one day back to Rome.
There are so many coins in the water of the fountain that every day the fountain is closed in the morning between 8 and 9 o'clock for the workers to collect the coins from the water, every day around 3000 euros are collected here and then donated to good causes.
We stayed here for more than half an hour and took as many pictures as the crowd of people allowed us, then we enjoyed a gelato (an Italian ice cream).
At the end we visited for a few moments the church of Saint Vicenzi and Anastasio.
Dear visitors, this was our first experience of the mini-holiday we had a few days ago in Rome, Italy.

Ah this brings back some memories. Ended up going here and tossing in my coin I think 12 years ago now? So much beauty there
I am very glad to see that you have been to this wonderful place, and you know that legend says that if you throw a coin in the fountain water one day you will return there.
Can't wait to hear from you......😉
You obviously enjoyed your visit to Rome. I would say Rome is quite a charming and beautiful city. The fountain itself is heavenly with the sculptures that adorn its side. I'm sure you also enjoyed good Italian food and wine during your visit. No doubt the memories you made during this trip will last a lifetime. Thanks for sharing the experience with us. Have a good day.
First of all thank you for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed my post about this iconic place in Rome.
And yes, Rome is a charming city, a city of contrasts, and very well known for its traditional dishes, here I mean pizza and spaghetti.
The memories with which I left the city will surely remain in my heart and mind for a long time to come.
I still have to cut this from my bucket list lol, good reminder!
Hehe, this place must have something special, I visited it several times on different days and times but you know what, it was still just as beautiful and crowded.

Thank you very much.

Yes that's actually cheap and I think in almost all of the cities in Italy, this is the transportation cost (bus). Rome city is on my bucket list and the Trevi Fountain spot is one of them. Thanks for sharing some great information...
Indeed Rome is an amazing city worth exploring, I noticed that almost everywhere you turn your eyes will have something to photograph.
And yes public transport is cheap compared to food for example or entrance to certain attractions.
But calculating from airfare to accommodation and all the other costs, Rome is not cheap.
I would be very happy to see that in the near future you will have much to share with us from your experience in Rome.
Thanks so much for stopping by😊
That's the thing I have to plan before going to Rome because Milan and Lake Como were not cheap either. Even in my opinion, Lake Como was way more expensive than Milan. The cheapest food I got in Genoa only, Venice was also expensive. So, I have to prepare for the Rome trip...Thanks for such valuable information...
Indeed, as I wrote, I found Rome a bit expensive compared to the standard of living here in Romania, here I'm talking about an average wage earner, you have to save some money to afford a city breack there.
The airfare alone was over 200 euros, plus accommodation, plus food and other expenses, in the end you are left with a considerable amount, but in the end worth the effort.
Completely agree with you but you said already each penny is worth in Italy...
Yes, Italy is not cheap, that's my opinion.
While I was in Rome, I tried to save a little if I could, here I wanted to say that I traveled by public transport (not by taxi), the transfer from the airport to the city center was done again by train and bus (not by taxi which costs 50 euros) the train cost 14 euros, I visited St.Peter's square and the basilica on Sundays when it was free to visit.
Now it depends on everyone what they want from a vacation and of course the comfort zone.
Awwww congratulations, my friend stays in Rome and he can't stop gushing over how beautiful it is. Indeed "Rome was not built in a day"🥰🥰
You are absolutely right, Rome is amazing and worth visiting step by step.
Thanks for stopping by.
Excelentes fotos, gracias por adentrarme al lugar 😊👏🤩
Me alegro de que le haya gustado y gracias por pasarse por aquí.
It's wonderful to hear about your excitement and fulfillment in visiting Rome, especially seeing one of its most emblematic landmarks, the Fontana di Trevi😜
Even now the joy of being in Rome is active, even though I'm not physically in Rome at the moment, and yes, Rome is an amazing experience both in terms of sights and cuisine.
The famous Fontana di Trevi. Beautiful and amazing. Congrats. Best regards from Cuba
Thanks so much for stopping by and yes this is a very important place in Italy.
Greetings from Romania.
