Dubai Marina a splash of colour in the middle of the desert
Dubai Marina a splash of colour in the middle of the desert
Being the beginning of the year these days I've been very busy, but even so I can't stay away from this community and I can't help but share some of the experiences my wife and I have had during the holidays.
In today's post I want to share with you a place that seems to be taken from the movies, a place that seems unreal, this is strictly my opinion as a simple man who in his country has not seen something like this.
Yes I'm sure you've figured out what a vibrant area of Dubai is all about, namely Dubai Marina.
Last December we spent Christmas in Dubai, yes, we wanted to do that for a long time.
I'm sure everyone has heard of Dubai so I'll get straight to the point and start by introducing you to the hotel I stayed at for 6 days.
The name of the hotel is Marina Byblos and it is located exactly in the Dubai Marina area, it is a 4 star hotel, here I have to admit that I was not so excited about it for two reasons, the first reason because the furniture was quite old (at the price we paid we could have had other conditions) and the second reason was the noise produced from the club on the first floor, I mention that we stayed on the seventh floor (even so we had noise until about 2 am).
Instead the breakfast was very good and diversified, moreover there was a boy who prepared on the spot the omelette with what ingredients we chose.
Ready with a full belly and with a lot of desire to walk we leave the hotel and without choosing a destination we take it easy on the paved sidewalks, I have never experienced before a walk in which I keep my eyes up, due to the fact that there most of the buildings were very high my eyes were towards the sky (I must admit that at one point I already had a sore throat).
I was amazed when I saw how they wash the windows on the floors of these buildings.
The promenade in Dubai Maria is quite long so in the evening before retiring to the hotel a walk around here is welcome, I forgot to mention that during the day the temperature here was 28-30 degrees and at night between 22-24 degrees, the perfect temperature to explore a city.
Along the promenade you will find good restaurants but be aware that prices in this area are also higher compared to other areas of Dubai.
I have to admit here that we preferred to eat in other areas such as Deira, we were looking for that traditional Arabic food which we found quite difficult because even in these areas most restaurants are Indian specific, but we also like Indian food so it was no problem.
I explored the Marina area both during the day and in the evening, I was very curious to make a comparison between the image I saw during the day, that clear, turquoise water, the buildings seemed to come out of a puzzle with the same place, but after dark, yes, here too I had some visual surprises.
Let's see Dubai Marina and the evening.
In conclusion if somehow you decide to visit Dubai when you choose your accommodation consider Dubai Marina because it is an area where you have quick access to the metro / bus or you are just a few minutes walk from the beach.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.

These views are very beautiful. I am pretty sure that one of these days I will have enough money to travel to Dubai to have a holiday.
I'm glad you like it here and I'm even more glad to see that you'll get to Dubai too.
I have an experience that hotels in Middle East are different than in Europe. 4 stars doesn't necessary mean 4 stars for us. When I was travelling to these countries from work we had a rule to always take 5 stars hotels to get some standard that we would expect in Europe in the 4 stars, maybe even 3 stars in some case. I don't want to however generalize, that's only my experience.
Your photos are great and it looks like you had a lot of fun! I was never too excited about Dubai, but I can understand why people enjoy going there.
Thank you for sharing and have a lovely weekend! 😊
You are right, the hotel classification there is different than in Europe (I experienced this first hand), but unfortunately the hotel we stayed at was one of the cheapest in the Marina area, the 5 star hotels were way over our budget.
We also went here for the first time and used a travel agency and that's how we ended up here, anyway we want to go to Dubai again (we still have a lot to do here), but now I have a different opinion about the accommodation, I found some apartments that look much better than this hotel and at a much better price.
I've already done my homework about flying and accommodation so I just have to choose my period and ready for my holiday.
To be honest I'm not that amazed by Dubai either, but I go there for the areas less visited by tourists there I will be able to live the true Emirati experience.
Have a wonderful weekend.
