Christmas magic at the Christmas Market in Arad, Romania
Christmas magic at the Christmas Market in Arad, Romania
Hello travelers from around the world
With the coming of December we are already thinking about the most beautiful month of the year, probably for many it is also the most awaited, especially for children because December is also the month of presents.
I personally like December very much because it manages to change whole cities and people, how can this month of December change a city, very simple, from the smallest to the largest cities all wear festive clothes, millions of festive light bulbs take over the cities changing their appearance.
For the month of December 2024 I have put on my list three Christmas Markets that I would like to visit, two markets here in western Romania and the third market a little farther away but still in Romania, it is the Christmas market in Craiova which after what I heard would be the second most beautiful Christmas market in Europe (after I visit it I will show you what experience I had there).
In today's post I turn my attention to the Christmas market in my county, as you can see many Christmas markets have opened their doors since November, and the market in Arad is open since mid-November.
The Christmas Market in Arad is organized in two locations, one in the Cathedral Square and the second location is in the Reconcilierii Park, and the opening hours are between 12-22.
Let's get into the holiday spirit.
First of all we chose to visit the market in Cathedral Square, from the city center is very easy to get here especially as the authorities have closed some streets just so that visitors are not disturbed by traffic, and above those streets have mounted festive lighting, thousands of light bulbs, at first glance I must admit that I like it.
After we passed under an archway made of thousands of light bulbs we arrived right in the middle of the market, there were many stalls, I did not know where to start, I had a desire to eat donuts.
I started however with the stalls selling traditional Romanian food, a lot of food, I noticed one thing, and this year the food is very expensive (in my opinion in some cases even overly expensive) but even so I will surely eat something.
I continued among the stalls where they sell mulled wine with dozens of flavors unfortunately I couldn't taste it because I was by car.
As the market is not very big so we managed to see it pretty quickly and we head towards the one in the Reconciliation Park.
In the second location everything changes here is the fun part, I saw that there is a skating rink, a panoramic wheel, trains for children and a carousel.
In conclusion I can say that I visited a nice Christmas Market, and considering that I was there just yesterday on a weekday it was not crowded.
THE END!

😘
The food looks really good. I don't recognize a lot of it. It that strips of pig skin?
I miss the European Christmas markets
Most of the dishes that appear in my pictures are traditional Romanian dishes made from pork, and yes, I bought those strips of pork skin, a delicacy.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Sounds delicious 😋
That's right😉
Nice Christmas market :)
