A walk through the symbols and amazing architecture of Targu Mures, the Palace of Culture, the County Council and the Town Hall
Hello everyone
It's almost over and this weekend is coming to an end and we will resume our daily activity during the week, so I took the time to show you what a beautiful place we visited at the end of the last week.
So it all worked out that at the end of last week, more precisely on 23.06.2023 (Friday) I had to make a visit to the city of Targu Mures, unfortunately I did not have much time dedicated to sightseeing here, so I had to quickly look for tourist attractions near where I had tea.
How did I get here?
The route from western Romania to Targu Mures was simple, mostly on highways (A1, A10, A3), on county or national roads we walked quite little, and in one area we encountered traffic restrictions due to works on another piece of highway.
Arriving in town on Friday around 11:30 I found it very crowded, but armed with patience I managed to get safely to my destination.
After I finished my work, which took a while and it was 33 degrees outside, I found a restaurant that had a terrace outside and I sat there to eat a pizza, I had seen on the menu that they have many varieties, after I finished eating I can say that the pizza was really good, the restaurant was called Macho.
Transportation in Târgu Mureș
Yes, I had to write about transport even though I didn't use it, but what I really liked was that I saw electric buses here (lots of them), something I haven't seen yet in many bigger cities.
Parking in Targu Mures
Being by car I had to park it somewhere, parking spaces at least in the center are limited but I was lucky every time and I found parking spaces in the area where I had business, the cost of one hour of parking in zone 0 is 1,15euro/hour and I paid through the Tpark app.
Let’s start exploring the city centre
As I said the time we had to visit the city was limited so we passed by the City Hall, a building with amazing architecture, in front of the building we were in a fairy tale with so many flowers in thousands of colors, everything arranged perfectly.
The next stop was in front of the County Council which also impressed me with its architecture, I didn't have time to see it and inside I saw that part of it was under rehabilitation.
Near the Administrative Palace I found out about a tower that can be visited, except that it is closed from 23 to 26 June, bad luck.
From the research I did on the internet I saw that many tourists visited the Palace of Culture.
Let's visit together the Palace of Culture in Targu Mures
Apparently I'm a very unlucky person, and this one was being renovated, the whole facade was covered with workers scaffolding, I couldn't see the architectural beauty.
But I didn't give up and through the scaffolding I managed to enter the main entrance which by the way is on George Enescu street, the person I met at the entrance told me that during this period you can visit only part of the Palace and sent me to the first floor for more information and here I could buy the entrance ticket.
When I got to the first floor, the lady there told me that I could visit only a few places, the rest being closed for rehabilitation (here I mean the hall of mirrors, which was the main attraction).
I bought the entrance ticket for the sights that could be visited, the ticket cost 15lei/3euro, yes, I also got some magnets, they were very nice.
Come with me to the Great Hall
Our first stop was in the Great Hall, an impressive auditorium, there was an event going on here so we quietly took a few pictures and left so as not to disturb.
Let's explore Secession Hall
Here I could see moments and achievements from the life of a former mayor of the city, Bernády György, I was impressed by the stained glass windows depicting personalities of those times, very well executed, everything was very well put together, I was simply captivated by this hall.
I left for last the lobby and stairs to the main halls to visit.
Here we found a remarkably large hallway with two huge mirrors at either end, from the hallway we had access to the Great Hall and the marble staircase leading to the rest of the objectives.
Dear all, I hope you enjoyed this short story from downtown Targu Mures, I end this story with the promise that I will come back here to show you many amazing places because the city is wonderful and ready to be explored.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.

It's cool to travel to places for work and take a chance to explore them too 🙂
I love those Renaissance (I guess) buildings, they are so charming.
And I also LOVE those green painted walls. There is so much work and detail in there.
Have a good start of the week and thank you for sharing!
Indeed, I had the opportunity to spend a few hours in this amazing city, I definitely have to come back here because there are many more things to do and see.
As far as I know the style of the palace is Art Nouveau, I hope I'm not wrong.
Many hours of work went into the palace and, of course, a lot of talented people worked here.
Thank you very much for visiting.
