Who doesn't love the Old Ferris Wheel of Šiauliai?
This cute but abandoned old Ferris wheel has become a tourist attraction in Šiauliai.
Years have passed since it last saw some action but due to its vibrant colours and cool design, the inhabitants seem to like having it around. It's quite often to see people just walking beside it, while they take a stroll in the Šiauliai Park (Šiaulių Parkas).
This park is located right in the middle of the city, near the market place and right behind the University of Arts (Menų Fakultetas).
Students like to come here to relax after classes. Some come to have a good time and chat with their friends, couples come here to date, the younger ones play football and such, others just like to ride their bikes...
But of course, everyone is hungry after a long day of classes. So, first things first: pack up on candies, snacks and smokes. 😂

Yeah, most of these old fairs are from the USSR times, they've been abandoned ever since. 😛
What a lovely place! ^_^
It is a cool looking park. It's a pity I didn't took more photos... but I was with a friend who was always running around from one place to the other. She rarely allowed me to stop and take the time to make more photos.

So nice of you to share these photos. I remember my family and me having a round on this Ferris when I was a kid :) That seemed so much fun to me and no fear at all ;)
Do you know why was it abandoned?
I guess, change of owners, lack of visitors and funds... I think the same happened to some other attraction parks in Lithuania...
Ah, I see... I thought it had closed down when the USSR ended.
