As the sun rose on the horizon, it became clear what had happened. I had just woken up to the morning sun ,shining through my room window, sweating profusely and heart pounding so fast it seemed like I had been in a marathon race of about a thousand miles. Well! Maybe I did, let's find out.

⏪Flashback⏪

I woke up feeling great and as the little boy I was, I cried to my mom telling her I was hungry because I didn't eat the night before. I slept really early and my mom was one not to wake someone up whenever you sleep even if you didn't eat before sleeping, she wouldn't mind.

It was the beginning of a holiday as we had finished school work for the session hoping to graduate to the next class. I was filled with Joy, pacing all around the house(mind you I was the stubborn type). My friends and I had planned to make a fruit heist in a compound we always passed by while coming back from school because we didn't have the time to pluck the fruits, our parents were strict and they always timed us, any second late and we would be in big trouble, haha. And moreover we always wanted to pluck as many as possible so we could enjoy ourselves to our satisfaction.

After eating, I ran happily to my friend's house, who was also our neighbor just about 5 houses apart. On getting there my friend was also set to go about our day and more importantly our supposed plan (The fruit heist).

⏩Fast forward⏩

We got to our destination after about a 20 minute walk. Of course! Gisting and laughing about how our plan was going to be perfect. The house we planned to make our fruit heist in, had a compound with a medium sized tall fence around it(not too tall ,not too short), a reason why we couldn't just pluck it when coming back from school it seemed like a lot of work, but now we were ready and not timed like the other days.

My friend and I climbed the fence after a lot of difficulty and then we started our heist silently because we didn't want to alert the house owners as they might chase us or maybe tell us we couldn't pluck it. Suddenly! My worst nightmare appeared! A big german shepherd dog. I froze at the sight of it and while my friend was still busy picking up and plucking the fruit, I whispered to him silently hoping the dog wouldn't budge, because I was looking straight at it and it was looking at me as well, the two of us waiting for who would move first. After about 5 seconds of whispering to my friend he turned and saw the dog as well, he also froze and we just couldn't communicate whether to run or not. Almost immediately, my superpower kicked in,(The adrenaline) yes I deem it as a superpower because I'm amazed at what it can make someone do, what one cannot do on a normal day.

My legs moved fast and I climbed the fence I had difficulty with climbing in one go. I don't think I even touched the fence at all because it seemed like my hands did not feel anything at all and all that I was seeing was the fence below my feet and voilà I was out of the compound while my friend was still struggling with climbing. I helped him and we got out together. But the funny thing is the story didn't end there because the dog climbed the fence as well in our pursuit. What the hell!

I ran as fast as my little legs could carry me forgetting I came with a friend. It was a hot chase and I wasn't thinking, so I ran into an uncompleted building hoping the dog wouldn't find me there, and after about 5 minutes hiding I came out thinking the dog was gone. Just as I came out of hiding, I heard a silent angry grin from behind me, it was clearly the dog and that moment I knew I was done for and my whole life flashed in my eyes. Just as the dog made an advance to attack me. I woke up, sweating profusely and my heart pounding like I just ran a thousand miles.
The sun shone from its horizon in the morning and as I woke up, I could feel its brightness and warmness.
As the sun rose on the horizon, it became clear what had happened. It had just been a dream all along and I was thankful it was.

As for my friend, well! I don't know where he ended, I was just so glad I had woken up from the dream because if it wasn't a dream then I bet I would have been the dog's food that morning.
