Truth Reaveled
So the proverb "there is no smoke without fire" is correct, because smoke becomes fire, and we all know how a fire starts, so I'll share with you an incident that occurred many years ago.
I had gone to live with my aunt in Port Harcourt; my father had never agreed to it, but I was upset that I wasn't allowed to go, so I began to protest by not eating, and after my aunt had to come herself to persuade him to let me go with her, I should have listened to my father, but I wanted it my way, and it came back to bite me.
One of the many incidents that happened during my stay with my aunt younger sister, there I realized that life isn't what we all assume it is, until we actually get to experience it, and this experience actually made me the person I am today.
My aunt, who is a caterer, had a cooking job one day. She was to cook for a large crowd at a burial ceremony for one of her clients, and I accompanied her because she had a young daughter who needed attention and care, and my aunt couldn't cook and care for her daughter all by herself, so that's where I came in.
We were given a room to sleep in, and after setting our luggage in the room, the woman who was the host asked us to move somewhere else.
She said: Come girl, you aren't supposed to be here, this room is preserved for special guest.
Me : Ma , your husband asked us to stay here and my aunt in around , where do I stay and wait for her?
She:My friend I am talking to you you are talking back at me, common leave this place for me.
I don't know if she forgot I came with my aunt, but long story short, we had to stay outside, and it was extremely cold even for me as a teenager, let alone the baby. I didn't have a phone to call my aunt to tell her what had happened.
I just sat there with other people outside because the home was packed, till I saw my aunt sister-in-law and told her we were ordered to leave the room we were in.She went to get my aunt, saying it wasn't right because the baby was outside at the time. After a few minutes, my aunt arrived, angry that we were outside, and she went to confront the woman who was our host, but the woman denied it, and I was slapped and called a liar, so I didn't have anything to say and no way to defend myself.
But I felt I had been cheated, so I sobbed and prayed that the truth would be revealed in some way. On day three of our stay, the truth was eventually disclosed when the person who was present when she ordered me to leave the room saw me and asked if we might get another room, and I recounted everything that had happened. He was astonished because he said our host had told him something different before she came to send me out of the room, and when I found out what the situation was, I began to doubt if our presence was ever needed there.(My Aunt).
So, according to the man, my aunt was recommended by the host husband, so she wasn't her chosen caterer, but she couldn't refuse her husband's request, so he held a grudge against her.
I was overjoyed because I knew I hadn't done anything wrong, but at the end of the day, my aunt finished her work and we went home without incident, but she didn't apologize to me in words, but I could tell she was sorry by her actions. She stopped by an amusement park and invited us to have a little fun before heading home; I was relieved that I was not at fault in the end.
This was one of the incidents I had to face staying with my aunt.
Now, I understood why your host had to tell a lie that she didn't order you out of the room. Before you and your aunt's arrival, there was a built-in hatred.
It's a good thing the truth finally came out in the open, and you were vindicated.
But when will our elderly ones learn how to say 'I am sorry' and move on? Lol
They prefer to show it in their actions
good thing o
you already know how this grown ups behave an,its their way
Maybe we can protest so African adults can start saying sorry when they are wrong
😂😂😂😂
I doubt it'd work. Their steeze is at stake
You had to spend a very unpleasant moment in that place, luckily everything was clarified and you came out innocent of that ugly incident.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Good Wednesday.
indeed an ugly incident. i do thank God for that
It is unfortunate that you had to go through that incident, but your aunty should have known that you wouldn't lie against the wife of your host. I am glad the truth eventually came out.

Thank God the truth came out at the end.

Yea thank God
Eish that woman went too far, she couldn't even consider the little baby you were carrying. I can imagine how helpless you felt being pushed away from the room and also being lied against. But good a thing, the truth came out at last
That the best part, the truth was Reaveled
What is so hard to say sorry?
Your aunt should have said sorry to you!
At least you made it out of there in one piece!
