(Edited)

A long time ago in a very little town called "Desire", there lived a vampire named Austin. Unlike his fellow vampires, Austin had a rather unique taste, he only drank coffee as his life depended on it which made him an outcast among other vampires. While other vampires went after the taste of blood, Austin craved the rich aroma, and enticing and energizing effects of a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.

Austin's love for coffee began so many years ago when he by accident stumbled upon a coffee plantation during one of his many adventures. The moment he caught a whiff of the roasted beans, he was captivated by the enticing and intoxicating scent. From that day onward, Austin's life began to revolve around coffee.

Every night, Austin would venture into the town's coffee shops, searching for the finest blends of coffee. He would sit at a corner table, cherishing every sip, and observing the huge crowd that came in. The town people had become used to his presence, they were so intrigued by the vampire with a caffeine addiction.

Aside from his unique taste, Victor was a kind-hearted vampire who never harmed humans he never did for any reason, he was always so calm even when he was angry, he would instead opt to drink his coffee to calm his nerves. He had even developed a way to ensure he never lost control, he would order decaf coffee during the day when the sun was up, and only indulge in the real deal after sunset.
One fateful night, as Austin sat in his favourite coffee shop, he noticed a young woman named Sharon. She was a barista with a huge passion for creating unique coffee blends. Intrigued by her dedication and creativity, Austin began a conversation with her.

After some time, Austin and Sharon's friendship blossomed. They would spend evening after evening talking about their love for coffee. Sharon, with her boundless energy and enthusiasm, would experiment with new coffee flavours, always striving to surprise and delight Sharon's refined palate.

As their friendship deepened, Austin confided in Sharon about his secret identity as a vampire. Sharon, who is open-minded and accepting, embraced Austin for who he was and supported his coffee obsession. Together, they embarked on a mission to create the perfect coffee blend that would not only satisfy Austin's cravings but also bring joy to the entire town which would be a good thing to everyone.

So the words of their extraordinary coffee spread like wildfire, attracting many coffee experts and lovers from far and wide. The town's coffee shop became a place of excitement and curiosity, all thanks to Austin's unique taste and Sharon's ingenuity. People were marvelled at the idea of a vampire who only drank coffee and eagerly awaited the chance to taste what they had made.

With each passing day, Austin's bond with the town people grew stronger. The people no longer feared him but they instead embraced him as a loving member of the community. Austin had found his true purpose and passion bringing so much happiness and warmth through the power of having a cup of coffee.

And so, the story of the caffeinated vampire became a legend, which was passed down from one generation to the other. Austin's story lived on, reminding people that sometimes, even the most unrelatable passions can bring about extraordinary friendships and undefined joys.

In the end, Austin's love for coffee not only removed his thirst for blood, but also brought about a love for his life within his immortal soul.

a caffeine vampire wopuld certainly engender less fear than the normal kind.

'After some time, Sharon and Sharon's friendship blossomed' I think one of those Sharon's is meant to be an Austin.

this is a great little story. I wonder if in a future draft you might consider moving towards a more immediate and up-close form of narrative. At present it reads like something you might tell as a story you heard from someone, which is fine, and it reads well. But moving to a show more, tell less, format could really lift it.

Especially as you hint of more Austin stories by teasing us with him having 'many adventures'.

This was a well told story that I enjoyed reading. A coffee loving vampire would be something interesting, hyperkinetic and restless, for sure. Good thing Austin sought balance and didn't just consume caffeine in order to keep himself calm.
