Monthly Checkup Doesn't Hurt
Hello dear women and ladies of the hive community, let me tell you about my friend who went through some really tough stuff because she wasn't checking her body like she shoulda. We gotta stay on top of that, you know? Ain't no joking' around when it comes to our health.
So this friend of mine, her name is grace but I call her mommy Jude as a respect to her, she was breastfeeding her little one. Cool, that's what mamas do, right? But then she noticed this lump in her left breast.she didn't think much of it at first. Figured it was just one of those breastfeeding things, you know how it gets a little lumpy sometimes.

Well, her husband starts asking about this lump after a while. But mommy jude just brushes it off, saying “Nah, it's nothing, just a woman's thing from nursing." She should have listened to her man on that one, but we can be stubborn like that sometimes, can't we?
Anyway, time goes on and mommy jude finally stops breastfeeding her daughter. But that breast with the lump, it starts swelling up, getting bigger and bigger. Can't ignore that forever, you get? So she starts running around, tryna figure out what was going on.
Turns out, the scan shows she's got mastitis. That's like an infection in the breast tissue. Painful stuff, lemme tell ya. They put her on some antibiotics, thinkin' that'll clear it right up. But a few months later, another scan...and boom, they hit her with the worst news. First stage breast cancer.
Man, you could just see grace's whole world crumbling right in front of her eyes when she heard that. Her and her family, they was devastated. Scared outta their minds, you know? All cause she didn't take that lump serious from the jump.
That's why we gotta stay on top of our self-exams, ladies. Once a month, gimme a few minutes to really check things out. Squeeze the goods, make sure ain't nothin' outta the ordinary goin' on. Cause that kinda ignorance cost mommy Jude her life.
She caught a tiny break, getting diagnosed at stage one. But lord, the treatments she had to go through...surgery, radiation, chemo. Sapped all her energy, made her sick as a dog half the time. She was a fighter though, but still she lost her life at the last minute when the doctors said the breast was beyond repair , they couldn't remove it because it was a risk to her life
She lost hope and now she's gone, her death came as a painful news to me cause , I never expected something of sort to happen to her. And I feel so sad about it and this.
As women we should take our health very important , it's not really easy being a woman but we should try our possible best to make sure we are safe , so our families can be one.
Cause I saw what mommy Jude had to go through, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. We are strong as hell, no doubt. But we don't gotta put ourselves through any unnecessary struggles either. A little self-love, a little self-care...that's how we win and stay winning' against anything life throws our way.
So listen up, ladies! I'ma holla at you all one time: check yourself before you wreck yourself, you get? Do those self-exams religiously, and don't ever ignore anything outta the ordinary. Value yourself, value your health. Cause you owe it to yourself, your family, everybody that needs you to stick around for a long, long time.
This is real life, no games. But if we look out for each other and look out for ourselves, we got this. No tumor, no illness, no nothing' gonna stop our power. We too strong, too resilient, too damn fabulous! Just gotta stay focused on self-care. Do that, and we'll out head living our best lives to the fullest, no questions asked. You hear me? Good, now go check yourselves.
I agree. We gotta tale care of ourselves not for us but for our loved ones.

Oh no, those check up are important.
Thanks for stopping by
I so agree but we need to educate the young girls we raise. If it’s a normal thing the checking up and checking in with loved ones when something is of will be normalised
It’s a long road but we will get there
Great topic
Yes true, it's important to educate the younger ones .
Yeah it is a long day oad and surely we would get there
