Ice Skating Adventure in Bangkok
Hi Everyone,
As you would know, Bangkok is hot and humid all year round therefore we try to stay indoors during midday to escape the heat. As our boys have loads of energy, we cannot just hide in a shopping centre all the time so we need to find some sort of activities to let that energy out but also stay cool. We decided to try out ice skating in Bangkok. Our boys have some ice skating experience from our Japan visit recently but we do want them to have a lesson to get their confidence up a bit. We arrived at the ice skating rink after getting a Grab and got there around 20 minutes from our appartment.
The first thing we did was to ask for an English instructor and luckily they had one available. They did worry about BB M's age as he is a bit younger but we told them he has done it before so they could join the lesson with BB E. The lesson is 2000 Baht for 1 hour which is just under $100AUD which is acceptable considering it is a private lesson.
The kids got their feet measured and got their gear on them. The only thing we didn't prepare correctly was to give them long pants as it was pretty cold inside and I was worried they will be shivering. We did though bring them a light jacket as we normally carry them around. The lesson started with the instructor teaching the basics and testing what they know. They did some simple tricks, went through a few simple obstacles, and then ready to go around the rink themselves. 1-hour lesson went by very quickly and they came out exhausted.
It was a pretty good experience for them and boosted their confidence on the ice. Previous times we've been to Thailands (pre kids), we normally just eat and shop indoors or even get a massage (which also did heaps this time round) but going to an ice staking rink is defiantly the first time and I think it is something we may do next time if we go to Bangkok next time.

We are losing one ice skating ring in the west. I skated once and enjoyed it.
It's a pity for it to go away.
Its a hard business to keep tbh, there are more exciting activities popping up all the time
Now, I wish more places can play pickleball.
haha I had to Google what pickleball was 😅
Now you know.
It should have many players in Australia too.
There is a company that manufacture the paddles (that's what the racket is called) based in Australia

A few of my friends use their paddles.
I will let my daughter experience ice skating soon. It seems that your kids enjoyed a lot. ☺️
yeah it was actually pretty fun
