Fangirl Edition - Gemini & Fourth's Event In Bangkok

If you have known me long enough on this blockchain or personally, many of you know I love Hello Kitty. Yes a fictional character but I'm a huge of it. Other than Hello Kitty, I have been following a few celebrities throughout my life and it does change from time to time but mostly I stay with one for quite some time. Recently I have been a huge fan of many Thailand actors as I have been watching the series, mainly BL stuff which I found a little more interesting than the boring storylines. I've seen enough Korean and Japanese series so moving to Thai series has been a new learning curve for me as I don't know any of the language or celebrities. I started watching the 2gether series with Bright & Win and have fallen in love with the story and there were no extreme scenes people imagined between two guys, remember these series need to be aired on free-to-air television so there are guidelines and limits to what they can publish.

Going to Thailand this time apart from sightseeing, and enjoying the food, the goal is to visit some events that are held in Bangkok by some of these celebrities. Due to the short notice of each schedule, I cannot plan ahead and my aim is to at least visit 1-2 of them regardless of who they are (at least I have to know them) so I can get a feel of what it's like to see their local celebrities up close. I've been following many idols in Asia and nowhere you could go to these free events and be so close to them and watch them promote either an item, their film, their album etc.

The first celebrity who I know had a free event was Gemini and Fourth. They were in a series called My School President which I have seen a few months ago so I know their songs and who they were. I was not a fan of them so I didn't go and line up or take a spot when the center opened. I arrived around 12pm and could see that the ground floor was being set up and security told us we cannot hang around that area. I moved to the first floor and by that time, most of the good view spots were gone. I moved up to the second level and found a spot facing right at the stage and put a jumper there to mark my spot. I could see everyone either have left a bag or post it note, meaning that spot is theirs and they can claim it later in the day. This is all new to me, I saw how it's done on Twitter and now I'm experiencing myself.

I didn't bring any photo gear good enough for taking photos from the second floor. In fact, my gear was really basic for sightseeing, had I known what adventures I was going into, I may have bought my extra long lense. The gear I literally bought over was a smaller long lens and a short-range lens which was useless for these events. So after lunch, the boys were on their own adventure while I waited for Gemini and Fourth to arrive at 5 pm. There was another event next door at 4.30 pm with a few well-known celebrities but I didn't go, in hindsight after going to a few of these events, I could have made it back in time as they were literally next to each other but it was my first one so I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

As the time was approaching, the crowd was getting bigger and bigger. At 5.30 pm, the boys arrived and the show began with them singing a few songs and then promoting the skincare product with two other actresses. The camera did an OK job and I was able to get a few shots where they looked up to the higher levels and I got at least 2 of Gemini looking into the camera. I made friends with the Thai fan next to me who was a seasoned fangirl and she told me to follow her after the show. She held my hand as we were going down so no one else could get between us. As we saw Gemini and Fourth leaving the stage after the press conference, we went down the escalators and there they were just next to us as we were going down and we got a very close-up video of them. The girl and I exchanged contacts and funny enough I ended up seeing her at another event as we both like the same celebrities.

My first fangirl experience in Bangkok I thought was a success and just like what I've seen online, you can really get up and close to these celebrities without feeling like you are intruding on their space. More also, many of these local fans were very calm as they are so used to it, very orderly and friendly, and even help international fans like myself who they know don't have many opportunities like this back home. I have to say, on this trip, I have been very lucky to see a huge range of local celebrities many of them have a large fan base overseas and it was definitely an experience during this trip learning the ropes on how it's done the local way.
