Fangirl Edition - Bright & Win's Viva La Vespa Event In Bangkok

Hi Everyone,

The first Thailand BL series I've watched was 2gether starring Bright Vachirawit and Win Metawin. The series became an instant hit as it was aired during COVID so people were all stuck at home with nothing much to do. They were the first Thai idols that I like but I knew when I booked my trip to Thailand that the chances of seeing them are really slim as both of them are very busy and often overseas attending functions or filming. They are both ambassadors for international brands of Burberry, Prada, Tiffany etc and with Win filming his film in Hong Kong during that time, I knew my chances were virtually 0.001%. Funny after a few days I landed, their schedule was released and said that BOTH of them will attend the Viva La Vespa and it's a free event for fans. I thought I was dreaming but my friend back in Australia messaged me saying she saw the same notice and told me to make plans to see them. They are Thailand's biggest stars at the moment so it's like an event once in a blue moon. After my first experience waiting for Gemini and Fourth a few days ago, I kind of knew how it all works I decided to go early to get a good seat.

Fortunately, I knew someone from Australia who knew some friends who were also going and was already waiting there at 7 am! By the time I got the memo, it was 9.30 am so I quickly got ready and got to the venue at around 10 am and met up with this friend of my friend. He introduced me to other friends he knew from a recent concert which was a blessing because I ended up either meeting up with them or bumping into them at future events throughout the trip. It was an outdoor event so we just left out stuff to hold our place and headed to the centre for some lunch and get some drinks to keep hydrated. Being an outdoor event is rough for fans waiting but most of them don't hang around like us and stay inside to keep cool.

By around 4 pm, Bright and Win were already on site checking out the venue and we took a few photos while they were walking around. Win's dog also made an appearance which was pretty funny cos it was so hot, he knew to stay under the shade as well. The organisers were handing out water for all the fans and later on gave us all a gift to take home. Apparently, this is rare you get something to take home for a free event but I guess we are waiting for Bright & Win, Thailand's biggest stars so they would spend some budget to keep fans happy.

Finally, the event started and it lasted an hour with them doing some interviews, posing for pictures, walked around to see fans. I was literally at the front and was very close to both of them. Funny enough, everyone around us was very calm with a few screamers but the fans in general were very well-mannered supporting their idols. Even my friend in Australia said how I could be so calm, I guess I was too busy taking pictures and videos. Also it's not my style to go crazy when I meet idols, I've always been the calm type. Being realistic they don't know you, only I know them so why not just enjoy the moment and their performance while you meet them instead? The event finished at 8.30 pm and I was super hungry so I quickly ate a quick dinner and headed back to the apartment while my friends all ended up going to the next event Win was going to promote Prada at 9.30 pm! Yes, he is so busy that he had back-to-back events that day, I have to say those fans who went to the second event were pretty loyal because I was too tired by the end of the 1st one.

I have ticked 2 out of the 4 idol boxes I wanted to see on this trip. At that point, I am praying I can see the remaining two and at that moment, I have yet to see any schedule for the two. Let's see how this trip goes and if I have any chance of ticking the other 2 boxes.
