It's not about the place, but mostly about the feeling.

It's windy and cloudy outside and I enjoy sitting by the wood stove and looking at the photos of my autumn vacation. Surprisingly, I have only posted the first day of the trip, but in reality I have a few hundreds of photos of some amazing places. Photos that are now full of smells and sounds and summer vibes and make me feel so good.

This is the second day of our trip and we are still crossing Crete, the island were we currently live, going from the East to the West. When you travel with a dog, you also search for places that are dog-friendly, even better if they can enjoy some free running and a few carefree moments. Don't forget that dogs can get quite stressed when traveling and changing places, like we did almost every day for about a month. Well, that was not the first time we were doing it with Markos, our canine companion, and he doesn't really get stressed, but we take good care that this will not happen :)

I saw at the map a place with waterfalls in the region of Rethymno. We were not the only ones that had the idea of visiting this place, but we had a really good time and here is the proof, can you see the excitement in the eyes and that smile that proves satisfaction?

Anyway, it's not that much about the place when you travel, but mostly the feeling. Same as when you look back at the photos...

There were many springs and small waterfalls around, the sound of the water and so much green - this is the second post in a week I talk about running water in Crete and green landscape, but believe me it's not that common here, especially in our region, consider it as a coincidence :)

There was a little "chapel" built in the rock where you could see the water's inside the earth route. That was beautiful!

IMG_9221.jpg

Actually the water is coming out of everywhere.

There was also a quiet place away from the tourists, where we could take off the leash under the shadow of the trees.

IMG_9201.jpg

Oh, some more springs...

IMG_9217.jpg

Can I have some privacy here, please?

All seasons are precious, but I always seek for summer :)
Happy walks everyone!

This is my #wednesdaywalk contribution for the wonderful challenge by @tattoodjay!

It took me a long time to appreciate the outdoors in a cold climate, but now I think it's such a special experience once you wear the right clothing for it.
This looks totally awesome:)
I do miss the nature of the UK canals, but for right now I'm enjoying my time here in Jamaica:)
Thanks for sharing your day with us:)))

Right clothing, yes, and I am happy anywhere you take me :)
I am sure you miss your beautiful narrowboat, but I am glad you enjoy your stay in Jamaica. I admit that all these photos with the tropic fruits and the amazing landscape that you post, make me want to beam over there :)
Have a great time and thank you so much for stopping by dear @millycf1976!

It's been awesome so far here in Jamaica. However, I haven't done much exploring around the island this time, due to the high level of crime in the country. The govt is trying to tackle it, and there's a state of emergency in some parishes, including mine, with a military presence, but a lot more needs to be done. Such a shame. I'm thankful that I have a lovely backyard:)))

Such a shame for a country like this, with natural beauty, culture, natural wealth. But isn't it the story of the whole Caribbean and Latin America? I wish things were better and I hope they will eventually be someday soon. Luckily there is the backyard :)
Take good care!

It's happening again, I have to say: I love summer too, no matter how hot it is!
God, what landscapes, what greenery! The water, the waterfalls, everything is wonderful and I feel a coolness that I love on summer days. You had a great trip, so glad you have so much to see so close to home.
Thank you, @traisto!

Hello my friend! 😊

That looks like an incredible place to visit, I love trees, can't tell them apart, but think they're all special and unique in their own way and you have some gorgeous shots of them in the post. Oh, my land, Marko is a handsome boy, he'd fit right in here with our five dogs. He looks like our late dog Tank in the picture where he's sitting and looking down the path, made me smile and think of our boy. Thank you for that. 😊

I look forward to seeing more of your pictures from your trip across Crete, it's got a lot of beauty to enjoy and thanks to your generosity with your photos, we all get to enjoy it with you. 😊

God bless you. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

My pleasure @traisto! We love dogs here and we're blessed to have the land to have more than one. The most we've ever had at one time was 14. They were the dad we sadly lost last year, the mom we still have and their 10 puppies, four of which are still with us and make up the rest of our current five. 😊

I should search for their baby pictures, might even have some with the pups and piglets sharing our living room, they were adorable babies. 😊
