A Sweet Experience with The Cafe at Hyatt Hotel
Christmas is just around the corner and as our team's tradition we try to get together once a year since we rarely see each other since pandemic.
As agreed by everyone, we decided to visit The Cafe at Hyatt Hotel located in City of Dreams Manila. Since to where I am residing is quite far 3 hours away I left our home around seven in the morning. The call time is 11:00 AM and the lunch buffet started at exactly twelve.
I arrived around ten in the morning and waited for the others to arrive. The place is jam packed with a lot of people some are family and the others are just like us teams.
The place gives a homey vibes and the lighting is quite good. Maybe because the place is inside a hotel that is why. It was spacious too and according to the employees, they can cater more than 300 people in the venue. The huge bottles are herbs and spices, when I went home I just realized that I should have asked if they are using these herbs in the food prepared.
I focused on the heavy meals such as roast beef, chicken and pizza and after resting we did proceed with our program proper. A small discussion about our plan for next year and some congratulatory remark to the newly promoted team mate.
Desserts are now prepared and since my tummy's quite full I decided to take a cup of coffee.
It is just a regular brewed coffee. It wasn't that hot as I was able to empty my cup within three to five minutes.
Since coffee's already hitting my blood vessels it is time to dig in to the desserts.
These purple stuff is called kalamay in Filipino. It is thick and creamy. Taste wise, I would prefer having the latik ( solid coconut curds*) versus the whipped cream added.
The chocolate tiramisu is something that I enjoyed. I tested one, and then after eating the whole piece I took three pieces again. The crispy triangle chocolate toppings does it trick as it gives a good impression in the mouth. It was bitter, but the whole piece itself is well balanced. It isn't that too sweet which I avoid most of the time.
This dessert is somewhat on the nutty side. I do remember the taste of a brownies, the orange meringue is sweet but the stick thingy, I forgot the taste.
The ube cake is good! Nothing special, honestly I am not a fan of purple food I just took one slice of it.
The tiramisu's whipped cream is over powering. I scrape the whipped cream and just ate the graham crackers on it. The mango's fresh so I enjoyed it too!
After digging in, when we left the place we just took a team picture that we will be using in our Thanksgiving email that will be sent to our onshore counterparts.
Next Hotel to Visit, Baguio naman.hehe
Ang layo SUTs! pag pwede na magbyahe kami nila baby GG kami dyan tapos mini meet-up.
I'm not sure if this cafe is relatively new but I must say that it fits the aesthetic of City of Dreams. I've already been here before, quite some time ago, maybe there's a lot of changes already.
