On Wednesday, September 20, we had a day full of actions that, at least, I like. It was a full and prosperous day because, among other things we did what we love and had fun working. For more than one reason I upload this publication and I like to do it because I participate in this week 30 initiative entitled The Coffee Shop Prompt | W-30, in addition, we managed to meet a work goal that we have been cherishing for several years and that, seeing the basis of this community initiative we decided to make available to you.

Special work day

September 20, 2023 will remain in my memory as one of the most important days of my time as head of the Knowledge Management Directorate of the Institute of Geology and Paleontology of the Republic of Cuba. That day we managed to develop a scientific workshop, with the aim of finding the ways we need to certify the journal of our institution before the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.

Many will say that I am exaggerating, others will say that this is something simple to be happy about. I will never tire of saying that the most beautiful things are the simplest and, in my case, whatever has to do with my work makes me feel like it, involves me and makes me fall in love with it.

Venue for the event

For this workshop, for which 20 people from different scientific centers were invited, we chose a place where we develop scientific activities and where we feel at ease: The Comodoro Hotel in Havana, capital of all Cubans.

Cafeteria chain or family cafeteria?

Among the offerings of the workshop was a coffee break, a snack and lunch.
The lunch was held at one of the facility's restaurants. However, the other two offerings were held at the Cafeteria La Cubana.
Here I allow myself an aside to answer the question of the initiative. In my case we do not have any business, let alone family cafeterias that we have come to because of our heritage.

But, I can say that a cafeteria like this one is family because of the degree of relationship we have with the workers of the place, the good treatment towards us, the quality of the service they provide and the respect and affection we have for each other.

Activities of the day

Although it is not the objective of the initiative, I must say that we carried out a variety of activities where fraternization and scientific exchange were the main protagonists.

The day began with the arrival of the workshop participants at the site and they went to the cafeteria where coffee was waiting for some and tea for others, accompanied by a sweet and a knob with water.

After coffee, the most important activity took place: the workshop on the Geoinformative magazine and the keys to achieve its certification. This workshop had a break during which a snack was served and after the end of the workshop we proceeded to lunch and fraternization among the participants.

What did this special day of work leave us with?

• To return to our favorite family cafeteria
• Enjoying and tasting the tasty coffee that they make here.
• Achieving a highly coveted work objective.
• We enjoyed working
• A different and exciting day

A final comment

The concept of family is very well defined in the Family Codes, but, in life one adapts the processes and rewrites or reformulates them again. This is one of the cases because in the places where I go and they treat me well, I have fun, they respect me and make love and affection something daily, one feels the need to go again and again. That only happens with what is familiar. For this reason, this cafeteria where we develop our scientific workshop is familiar and is my favorite.
