[ESP/ENG] Bayer de Múnich y Celtic de Boston se agigantan

No tenía pensado escribir hoy. Problemas de salud me impiden hilvanar ideas con claridad o dar mis mayores esfuerzos en aras de lograr un mejor producto final, pero, ayer ocurrieron dos hechos deportivos que me obligan a escribir y quiero dejar mis consideraciones.

Dos hechos que tienen algunos puntos en común y, a pesar de la distancia geográfica y la diferencia en los deportes coinciden en algo que tienen los equipos grandes y es que saben aprovechar las brechas de sus enemigos y aferrarse a cualquier hálito de vida, para ganar o conseguir sus objetivos.

En esta publicación el autor dará sus valoraciones en torno a la corona alcanzada por el Bayer de Múnich y a la victoria alcanzada por los Celtic de Boston en la final de Conferencia Este de la NBA.

El último campeón de las cinco grandes ligas del fútbol de Europa

EL Bayer de Múnich se convirtió en el último campeón de las cinco grandes ligas de Europa, pues Barcelona en España, Napoli en Italia, Manchester City en Inglaterra y PSG en Francia ya eran los campeones de sus respectivas ligas. Aquí ocurrió algo curioso, pues, el Bayer es unos de los equipos que casi siempre se corona primero que otros equipos, pues, además de su dominio en la liga alemana, esta tiene menos jornadas que las otras ligas y su campeonato se inicia primero que las otras.

¿Qué pasó en esta temporada que el Bayer se coronó en la última jornada?

A juicio del autor, esta ha sido una de las temporadas en las que ha visto un Bayer tan accesible y menos temibles en las diferentes competiciones en las que participó. Puede ser que varios factores hayan influido en ellos y aquí les pongo algunos a su consideración:

•La salida de su goleador estrella. Es cierto que en el deporte de equipo la victoria es del equipo, pero hay jugadores que hacen la diferencia y en este la construcción estratégica se formó sobre Robert Lewandoski. Ni Sadio Mané ni otro jugador pudo aportar en goles lo que el 9 polaco aportaba en cada una de las temporadas jugadas allí.

•La lesión de su capitán y portero titular. Parte del comentario anterior se adapta a esto, pero aquí se agrega el hecho de la importancia de Manuel Neuer como portero y capitán.

•El cambio de director. En dos años este equipo ha visto tres directores y en materia de deporte profesional y de equipo esto es fatal. Puede darse el caso que algún técnico triunfe a la primera, pero en materia de estrategia deportiva, entrenamientos, tácticas, maneras de ver y jugar cada entrenador tiene su visión y adapta al equipo a su manera de concebir el juego teniendo en cuenta las armas que tiene.

•La falta de regularidad. En buena parte de la temporada el equipo no fue regular en su juego algo que se apreció desde el mismo inicio y se vio más adelante en cada una de las competiciones.

Es cierto que al final, lo que cuenta son los títulos, pero la dirección de la entidad alemana debe analizar los elementos negativos de la actual temporada y eliminar las causas que los llevaron a tener esta temporada, de lo contrario no podrán aspirar a ganar en la máxima competición futbolística de Europa.

En una publicación anterior titulada Finales de Conferencia: Iguales y diferentes daba como favoritos a los Denver Nuggets y a los Boston Celtic. Los criterios los fundaba en la temporada que tuvieron ambos equipos, la regularidad mantenida, solidez de sus plantillas y en el caso de los Celtic porque de todos los equipos era el que se mantenía con un juego capaz de llevarlo a los resultados alcanzados el año anterior en el que discutieron el anillo de la NBA.

Pero, el inicio de los play off les fue totalmente adverso y encajaron tres derrotas de manera sucesiva. Reconozco que no pensé pudieran levantarse de estas derrotas, pero lo han hecho y nuevamente el escenario de esta conferencia tendrá su definición, al igual que el año anterior, en el séptimo juego y con los mismos protagonistas.

¿Qué ha cambiado en el juego de los Celtic de Boston?

•El equipo ha mejorado y ha hecho gala de una sólida defensa. Para tener una idea de esto, un dato: después de perder los tres primeros partidos los del Heat de Miami estuvieron en los juegos 4 y 5 sin llegar a 100 puntos y en la derrota de ayer llegaron a 103.

•Jaylen Brown se ha incorporado al ataque del equipo. Este jugador no estaba aportando lo necesario para su equipo y por mucho que su estrella Jayson Tatum aportaba no le alcanzaba al equipo para ganar.

•El equipo ha mejorado su eficiencia en los tiros de campo. EL equipo no había tenido una buena eficiencia en los tiros de media ni larga distancia y esto les había pasado factura.

•El funcionamiento del equipo. Algo tuvo que ajustar el cuerpo técnico, para cambiar la dinámica del equipo y llevarlo al funcionamiento actual en el que hasta los jugadores que vienen de la banca tienen un protagonismo marcado.

Puede que otro elemento adicional sea el hecho de saber que el ganar la actual temporada de la NBA los puede convertir en los reyes del baloncesto al convertirse en los máximos ganadores de esta competencia, en la historia de la NBA.

De goles y canastas

Dos equipos históricos han demostrado que mientras exista vida hay esperanzas y han logrado conseguir objetivos importantes en sus respectivas competiciones. De una parte, el Bayer de Múnich volvió a ganar una liga, en una temporada que ha sido de la menos fructífera de los últimos años y de la otra un Celtic de Boston que ha logrado empatar el play off final de su conferencia, después de recibir tres derrotas y que muchos lo dieran por muerto.

Con la victoria alcanzada por el equipo bávaro, este se consolida como el equipo más dominante de Europa a nivel de liga, al menos en el presente siglo XXI.

Por su parte, los Celtic de Boston continúan su lucha por ganar la Conferencia Este, algo que de conseguirlo los llevaría a luchar por la corona de la NBA y de ganarla se situarían como el equipo más ganador en la historia de la Asociación Nacional de Baloncesto.

The latest champion of Europe's five major soccer leagues

Bayer Munich became the last champion of Europe's five major leagues, as Barcelona in Spain, Napoli in Italy, Manchester City in England and PSG in France were already the champions of their respective leagues. Something curious happened here, as Bayer is one of the teams that almost always wins the title first, because, in addition to its dominance in the German league, it has fewer rounds than the other leagues and its championship starts first than the others.

In the author's opinion, this has been one of the seasons in which he has seen a Bayer so accessible and less fearsome in the different competitions in which it participated. Several factors may have played a part and here are some of them for your consideration:

• The departure of their star striker. It is true that in team sports victory belongs to the team, but there are players who make the difference and in this one the strategic construction was formed on Robert Lewandoski. Neither Sadio Mané nor any other player could contribute in goals what the Polish 9 contributed in each of the seasons played there.

• The injury to their captain and starting goalkeeper. Some of the above commentary fits this, but here we add the fact of Manuel Neuer's importance as goalkeeper and captain.

• The change of manager. In two years this team has seen three managers and in professional and team sport this is fatal. It may be the case that a coach succeeds at the first time, but in terms of sports strategy, training, tactics, ways of seeing and playing, each coach has his own vision and adapts the team to his way of conceiving the game, taking into account the weapons he has.

• Lack of consistency. In a good part of the season the team was not regular in its play something that was appreciated from the very beginning and was seen later in each of the competitions.

It is true that in the end, what counts are the titles, but the management of the German entity must analyze the negative elements of the current season and eliminate the causes that led them to have this season, otherwise they will not be able to aspire to win in Europe's top soccer competition.

In a previous publication entitled Conference Finals: Equal and Different, I gave the Denver Nuggets and the Boston Celtics as favorites. The criteria were based on the season that both teams had, the regularity maintained, the solidity of their squads and in the case of the Celtics, because of all the teams, they were the one with a game capable of reaching the results achieved the previous year in which they disputed the NBA ring.

But, the start of the playoffs was totally adverse and they conceded three successive losses. I admit that I did not think they could get up from these defeats, but they have done it and again the scenario of this conference will have its definition, like last year, in the seventh game and with the same protagonists.

What has changed in the Boston Celtic's game?

• The team has improved and has shown a solid defense. To get an idea of this, one fact: after losing the first three games the Miami Heat were in games 4 and 5 without reaching 100 points and in yesterday's loss they reached 103.

• Jaylen Brown has been added to the team's offense. This player was not contributing what was needed for his team and as much as their star Jayson Tatum was contributing it was not enough for the team to win.

• The team has improved its efficiency in shooting from the field. The team had not had a good efficiency in mid or long distance shots and this had taken its toll.

• Team performance. The coaching staff had to adjust something to change the team's dynamics and bring it to the current performance in which even the players coming from the bench have a marked role.

Maybe another additional element is the fact of knowing that winning the current NBA season can turn them into the kings of basketball by becoming the biggest winners of this competition in the history of the NBA.

Of goals and baskets

Two historic teams proved that as long as there is life there is hope and managed to achieve important goals in their respective competitions. On the one hand, Bayer Munich won a league once again, in a season that has been one of the least fruitful in recent years, and on the other, Boston Celtic managed to tie the final play-offs of their conference, after three defeats and being left for dead by many.

With the victory achieved by the Bavarian team, it consolidates its position as the most dominant team in Europe at the league level, at least in the present 21st century.

For their part, the Boston Celtics continue their fight to win the Eastern Conference, something that, if achieved, would lead them to fight for the NBA crown and, if they win it, they would become the winningest team in the history of the National Basketball Association.
