A toast to the Day of Love and Friendship

In many parts of the world today is celebrated the day of Love and Friendship, two feelings that do not need a date to be given, but on this date there are rituals and details that enhance the value of these owners of lives and hearts.

In my case, this is the 27th February 14th that I spend with my wife and, although she does not know what I have prepared for her to have a good time, I could not miss one of the rituals that are part of our daily life and our complicity: A cup of coffee.

But, this cup has a special flavor, a different connotation and, here I tell you the reason for that statement.

Love and Friendship Day Rituals

Those who know me know that on this special day I have rituals as many do, some agree, others not so much. My rituals are not limited to giving gifts or inviting to dinner because for these dates the details are more important than a dinner or a pair of shoes.

Among my rituals there are three that I love to do: compose and give a poem to my wife, make a video with photos and moments in which she appears as the main protagonist and make the first toast of the day with a cup of coffee.

Toast for Valentine's Day

As many of you know my wife is retired and I avoid waking her up, so she can sleep in the morning and rest. My breakfast and all the morning preparation at home is on me and when I leave for work my wife is still asleep.

However, this ritual cannot be broken and, at 5 a.m. I wake her up for the first toast to the Day of Love.

It is something we both enjoy very much because it has been going on for over 25 years and has been responsible for important moments in our lives and where we have forged the beginning of several projects in our lives.
And, this mug had an additional flavor because the package was a gift given to us for the Day of Love.

The toast to love and life

More than a toast, it is a consolidation of our love and the life we decided to found 27 years ago. In this time we have come time and time again to this toast. Many may wonder why we do it and here are three reasons:

• That cup of coffee is the judge that certifies that what we started more than half a century ago is still latent and, the need for the toast so or certifies.
• This toast has managed to save some February 14 days in which we have had some problems in our relationship.
• We like coffee and this moment is more than just taking a sip of this excellent beverage. It is the ideal moment to continue harvesting that feeling that we call love and that a toast like this one is in charge of cultivating.
