The handmade toy and some story about the old local life

THE HANDMADE TOY

This owl was made by using coconut and bamboo parts, which were handmade by the locals. Imagine a long time ago, when there was no phone, TV, or computer for entertainment. I believe this toy was one of the hot sales for the kids.

But imagine that suddenly this toy came alive, which was not impossible when the black magic was being practiced by the locals when there was still no religion being introduced to them. The majority of the locals will have one or more guardian spirits that have a contract to take care of them.

For us in the current generation, it might seem that it's not right to have a contract with the spirit or the underworld creature, but imagine how you'll survive in that era if you need to go inside the unknown jungles. The other spirit might test you, and that can let you die miserable inside the jungle.

Some people also want to test you using their spirit, and whoever has the strongest spirit will usually be picked as leader and have power over the other villager. For them, it was taboo if you did not follow them, and you could be exiled from the community because you could make their spirit angry.

I always wonder if I can survive during their era. I personally think that I might not be able to survive, but at the same time, I really want to see and experience everything because most of that ritual of having a guardian spirit is going extinct now.
