I NEVER SPEND THIS MUCH FOR DURIAN

Hello everyone,

How are you? I hope you have a wonderful day today that is better than yesterday.

DURIAN IN SINGAPORE

If you remember, I have uploaded some photos of durian that is being sold in Singapore in my previous post. It looks cheap because it costs around SG 15 for each KG, but when you convert it into RM, it will cost around RM 50 with current rates, and that was the lowest grade for the lowest price, and it can go up to SG 100 per kg. Imagine having something that you can free back to your hometown, but still, for those who love durian, you can't help but crave it, especially when you smell it, and you can't help but want to find it.

It was very hard to find durian farms in Singapore because most of the place has been developed into housing, and I believe all the durian was being imported from outside countries. Believe it or not, there was some durian at the park where I went jogging.
The funny thing is that because it was only a few trees of it, people have already sat at the bench around that tree and waited for it to fall.

DURIAN HUNTING AT JOHOR

Last weekend, me and my wife decided to find durian in JOHOR. Even though it's not free, at least it's much cheaper than what we can find in SINGAPORE. Yesterday, I posted about how we missed the bus stop and found the cute stray cat when we were waiting at the bus stop to return to the right location. It was about 35 minutes from the bus centrals. We are so lucky because the rain was like cats and dogs after we reached that stall. To be honest, the price was not like what I expected; it was still expensive, but at least cheaper from SINGAPORE.

The higher grade, like MUSANG KING, is still expensive, so we choose the normal grade that costs around RM15. I ask my wife to choose the durian because she was the expert. I'm afraid to choose bad durian because I have had the unfortunate experience before choosing the wrong durian. Lucky for us at that time, the durian was free of charge.

It tastes good for lower grades. We end up buying 6 durians and paying around RM210 for them. Imagine how much we have to pay for 6 durian if we choose to eat that in SINGAPORE. Yeah, its still expensive, but it's still okay because we don't eat durian every day. I start regretting not eating much when it was free after paying that much for it.

How much the durian will cost at your place?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy this journey. See you in another post. Cheers.
