Groundbreaking news on InLeo and LPUD

a lion against a black background

This was a very busy week on InLeo as we had some major announcements. We have quite a lot to cover so let's cut to the chase!

New listing for LEO

The first big news is the listing of WLEO on Maya Protocol, which is a friendly fork of Thorchain, a Cross-Chain L1 DEX. The two protocols are very similar, but Maya aims to be more experimental and innovative, offering various features like Smart Contracts and smaller blockchain integrations, while Thorchain is intended to be "like Bitcoin" in the sense that it is a hardened protocol with little changes on a regular basis.

As soon as WLEO goes live on Maya, a WLEO-CACAO pool will be created and anyone will be able to provide liquidity to that pool.

And, because Maya offers instantaneous cross-chain L1 swaps, we will be able to swap any of the major coins listed on Maya into LEO. That means instantly going from Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and many others into LEO with the click of a button.

Additionally, this will expose LEO to a whole new community, which can potentially discover our unique social features and join our ranks and, for that reason, the InLeo team is working around the clock to make sure the UI offers a smooth experience to potential new users that will come from this integration.

The first-ever stake-weighted poll on the Hive blockchain

This is something that was announced a while ago but finally came to fruition yesterday.

Stake-weighted polls are live on InLeo. That means people can now choose to create polls with votes weighted based on the voters' Leo Power (staked LEO). This is the first iteration of this new feature, and the plan is to enable Hive Power staked polls after the first phase of testing and, after that, other Hive Engine tokens, too.

This opens a whole new realm of possibilities to the InLeo community, and as a member of a community that has its own token, I'm already planning on integrating this tool into our governance system.

But this is not all there is about weighted polls. To debut this new feature, the InLeo team created a poll for Leo Power holders to decide on the fate of CubFinance and Polycub. This is a very important decision for our community so, if you have any staked LEO, make sure you read the official announcement and vote accordingly.

My "last" LEO Power Up Day

On top of everything, this week - today, more specifically - we also have our famous LEO Power Up Day (LPUD), which is when the LEO community gathers together to show their support.

By participating in this monthly event, you are not only helping InLeo but you can also win some nice rewards provided you fulfill the requirements below:

There are two types of power up:
CUB attack: Power up at least 50 $leo on the 15th LION attack: Power up at least 150 $leo on the 15th.
Being eligible for the rewards
Your total Leo Power (on the 15th) must be less than 25k.
You must power up at least 50 Leo on December 15.
You must not have powered down Leo since September 15.
Make a post on InLeo about LPUD, why are you joining, what do you think about the initiative, the community or anything related to InLeo (A Thread is not enough).

As you can see, one of the requirements is having less than 25k Leo Power and, as I plan to break that threshold in the next days, that means I will no longer be eligible for rewards.

So, is this my last LPUD?

Of course not! With or without rewards, I will keep showing up month after month, showing my support to this great community and incentivizing others to do the same!

If InLeo realizes all the potential I think it has, the outcomes will be greater than any short-term rewards and, since the day I joined Hive I knew I was in for the long game.

Final thoughts

This has been a big week for InLeo, with a lot of announcements and news that will definitely change the future of our community.

Make sure you read all the official sources provided because there is a lot to take in this week!

Indeed, a lot happening around here!

I was really happy that there's a potential plan to formally "sunset" CUB and POLYCUB. I think the decision to keep everything under a single heading is a good one. Crypto needs to make itself simpler not more complicated.

I agree. I'm glad the team understand it was an interesting project but had some flaws and it's time to move on. Hopefully the community thinks the same way
