I do enjoy arts but never process the concept of of putting ink to paper. But this challenge (zealy campaign) gave me the chance of exploring the possibility.

MISSION 🎯

Draw/Design/Create an image of a Lion fighting (and winning) against a dragon.

Materials:

Paper, black pen and imagination.

My objective was to capture a Lion fighting a dragon but I haven't unlocked that level yet so I settled for a face off. Lion 🦁 vs Dragon 🐉

LFG!!!!

Started by lightly sketching the basic shapes that make up my subject. Using simple geometric forms or organic shapes, whichever is appropriate. To help establish the overall structure

Once had the outline of the lion in place, I tried measure what size the dragon will be to ensure it align with the lion

Next I Gradually added more details to my sketch. Starting with larger features and work my way towards smaller ones. Using light, confident lines to define the sketch.

Next I added value to my sketch by shading areas that are darker.
Then I felt satisfied with my sketch, and choose to leave it.

I happy I tried it and did it in one go. Using a pen wasn't a good idea as I could not erase mistakes and all. So I Just doubled down.

My plan is to remember, practice is key to improving my sketching skills. And I Don't get discouraged if my attempts don't meet my expectations. So I will Keep sketching regularly, observe and learn from other artists, and enjoy the creative process.
