The Weight of Wanting
For things will be as what we wish shouldn’t be forced but naturally it is beyond our reach, or even outside our call
The sun will rise naturally, the rain will fall naturally, the things will be as they will be as life flows well, not by our own hands
So let us learn the gentler art of resting what is, with a peaceful heart even struggling against each hope, each dream…
And savour moments as they show to expect for less in finding our inner peace to help mould each day, to shape each day
But time slips like a grain of sand, as unmoved by dreams we’d thought so highly and grand even when our plans are even castles made of air
Our wishes stand so briefly suddenly they are gone like the wind, like shadows cast before the dawn bracing ourselves against change…
So why not wait until tides unfold, set aside your sense of tight controls as it might be a weight upon our back growing like veins and chains
This leads to joy and pain, for wanting to bind us, to keep us small even grasping our minds to want them all caught up in future’s face
As this wisdom is in a yielding mind, it always seeks the real present’s gentle grace as the world’s true gifts unfold…
As I welcome all that is here, I can turn sorrow into cheer, even continue life that is made with a lighter acceptable heart
In every ache, a strength is grown, in every loss, a seed is sown as this quiet grace is never loss without any gain
Accept the gift and even let anger cease to lose in surrender is a lasting peace where a whole new world of peace begins to show, just let things be and let things fall…
Each day is a gift, breath of grace
Peace awaits for you and me
To each unknown, free from taunt
What is calmness comes from a release
