Bad Idea | A 5 Minute Freewrite

This is my submission to Day 1801: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday - Prompt: security guard

They crouched in the shadows, behind some wooden crates, slightly out of sight of the giant man with the shotgun.

“What do we do, Mick?” The one with the mustache whispered. The age-old problem of what to do about the guard at the door.

Mick nodded in thought. It was pretty much a fifty-fifty toss-up between physical confrontation and distraction. He looked at his partner Jake, the one with the mustache, and licked his lips in anticipation. Jake was the muscle and could probably take the guard by surprise.

Mick looked around and picked up a small rock. “Listen, I’m going to throw a rock over there to distract the guard.”

“Are you serious? That’s not going to work; this isn’t a video game man!”

Mick shrugged and hissed, "Well, do you have a better idea?"

Then the clicking cocking sound of a shotgun, a chuckle, and the shadow of a giant.
