I'll start this post clarifying that I like to show the real side of the creative process and not the "I did everything perfect the first time" because that shit doesn't exist and any artist that tells you otherwise is lying XD :D let's go on!

Empezare este post aclarando que me gusta mostrar el lado real del proceso creativo y no el "hice todo perfecto a la primera" porque esa mierda no existe y cualquier artista que te diga lo contrario miente XD :D sigamos!

I don't usually make fanarts unless I really like the character, the healers and their designs seemed to me very nice, besides being made by the hand of a very talented artist, it is noteworthy that the game and its designs maintain a constant harmony and I like that, because it speaks very well of a good communication between the whole team, and a clear concept of what the creator of the game himself wants.

Now if I'm brutally honest

I'm a bit tired of seeing people drawing the same animal over and over again without any change.

No suelo hacer fanarts al menos que me guste mucho el personaje, los sanadores y sus diseños me parecieron muy lindos, ademas de estar hechos de la mano de una muy talentosa artista, cabe destacar que el juego y sus diseños mantienen una armonia constante y eso me gusta, porque habla muy bien de una buena comunicacion entre todo el equipo, y un concepto claro de que es lo que quiere el creador del juego mismo.
Ahora si les soy brutalmente honesta estoy un poco harta de ver a la gente dibujando al mismo animal una y otra vez sin cambio alguno. Donde esta la creatividad?

THIS prompted me to break the "mold" a bit and after going through the game posts, updates and so on decided what I wanted to do... KINDA.

For some years I've been doing pixelart by HAND, not like others who call themselves artists XD and just write to an artificial intelligence what they want or use a program to modify images.

Hace muchos años he realizado trabajos en pixelart A MANO, no como otros que se hacen llamar artistas XD y solo le escriben a una inteligencia artificial lo que quieren o usan un programa para modificar imagenes.

And without further ado let's go to the process:

ok when i started i didn't want to make a portrait that was exactly the same as what you see here but in pixelart because what's the point of that?
so I started to sketch in pixelart the shapes of more or less what I wanted, because although I wasn't going to draw the same image in pixelart, I wanted that at least AT LEAST it could be recognizable.

y ya sin mas vayamos al proceso:
ok cuando comence no queria hacer un retrato que fuera exactamente lo mismo que ven aqui pero en pixelart porque cual es el chiste de eso?
entonces comence a bosquejar en pixelart las formas de mas o menos lo que queria, porque aunque no iba a dibujar la misma imagen en pixelart, queria que al menos AL MENOS pudiera ser reconocible.
No voy a mentir, lo mas dificil para mi fue la cara y las imagenes a continuacion van a demostrar XD todos los cambios que el rostro tuvo.

I'm not going to lie, the hardest thing for me was the face and the images below will show XD all the changes that the face had.

1) dont judge me i always start with the hair and face lines

no me juzgues yo siempre empiezo por el cabello y las lineas de la cara

just rough lines cuz its a sketch

2) i do another layer, drop the opacity of the one i was working /sketching, and start doing the clean lines of the face and eyes.

Hago otra capa, bajo la opacidad de la que estaba trabajando/esbozando, y empiezo a hacer las lineas limpias de la cara y los ojos.

(i 100% regret not keeping these eyes DX)

3) when im happy "happy" with the face i start sketching the body

cuando estoy contento "contento" con la cara empiezo a esbozar el cuerpo

im sorry guys this was awkward af i was like "i want the jacket? or not?" so i was just sketching the whole time till i was like ... you know what? fuck it i dont want it lmao

4) When i finally DECIDED what i wanted for the body i started making the clean lines.

Cuando finalmente DECIDÍ lo que quería para el cuerpo empecé a hacer las líneas limpias

here i did a step back and started like .... brah i dont like the face is not similar it looks like fucking edgy ocean mommy or some shit XD (WICH NOW I THINK ITS FINE).... but whatever i started doing the feets.

aqui di un paso atras y empece como a, bruh no me gusta su cara, no es similar, se ve como una mami edgy del oceano o algo asi, cosa que ahora pienso que esta bien, pero como sea, comence a hacer los pies.

10) i came up with the idea of water wings :3 and sandals ... i like it

se me ocurrio la idea de alas de agua y sandalias, me gusta.

ok so HERE i started to doubt i was like... i dont like this it looks odd, doesnt look like her, and this spiral of "i dont like the eyes, the mouth, is the hair even right????" started :D so.... well i did some changes just looking at what was wrong (spoiler alert) this actually looks good, different from the original art ? yes but that was the point of doing this.

ok entonces... AQUI empece a dudar y estaba como, no me gusta esto, se ve raro, no parece ella, y este espiral de "no me gustan sus ojos, la boca, esta el cabello siquiera bien???, y bueno hice unos cambios solo mirando a lo que estaba mal (sspoiler alert) esto en realidad se ve y se veia bien, diferente del original? si pero ese era el punto de hacer esto.

17) i said : you know what maybe if i start placing some base colors i can you know make it work or something (it was already working but my brain is dumb and i was looking at this illustration for 5 hours straight while working on it)

me dije sabes que ? quiza si empiezo a colocar algunos colores base, puedo ya sabes hacerlo funcionar o algo (en realidad estaba funcionando pero mi cerebro es tonto y estuve viendo esta ilustracion por 5 horas seguidas mientras trabajaba en ella)

I WAS LEGIT : this is a piece of shit and i spent 5 fucking hours working on this and it looks like shit cuz im fighting my demons (color theory lmao)

23) so i tried something.... i deleted the face :D and started working on a new one AGAIN

asi que intente algo, borre la cara y comence a trabajar en una nueva DE NUEVO

24) i changed the colors too

cambie la paleta de color tambien.

25) And i ended up with this new hair and face.... wich it actually looks more cute, and less edgy (i wen from an extreme to another)

y acabe con este nuevo cabello y cara, la cual de hecho se ve mucho mas adorable y menos edgy... (me fui de un extremo a otro)

for animation:
I split and moved the parts that were going to be in motion and I was testing at what speed and how to make it look fluid. I'm not going to share the frames because I really do this by pulling it out of my own head and doing it and ... it's hours of being in it that I don't give away as easy as that.
this animation is not as elaborate as others I have done, as this is something I wanted to keep simple and as uncomplicated as possible, however these things take time.
