Day 20 - Coffee

30 pictures - 30 stories divider set - Introduction.png

I got inspired by the "30 day not-so ordinary ordinary items challenge" but as I love giving things a personal twist, I decided to change the format a bit for myself so it suits me better. I've adjusted it to the 30 pictures - 30 stories challenge. But some days you will see that I also use not-so ordinary ordinary objects.

Feel free to join the challenge at any time if you like.

Publish one picture a day during 30 days and write a story about that picture. This can be anything, any object in the home, a person, scenery or a pet. I'm going to share a diversity of pictures and challenge myself to step outside of the box.

You may have read before that I value my coffee a lot. I'm very picky in terms of the right coffee. It has to be a strong coffee for me. Not that I always drink the strongest coffee but it can't be not strong coffee as I rather throw that away after one sip.

We bought a L'or Espresso machine when we moved in here and from day one I actually have a few favorites, of which one is the one that I stick to constantly now. It's actually because it remains the best option to my opinion as well as we both love drinking this one. We had this huge box of coffee cups gifted with the machine and we tried a lot of them. Some were ok, others were not our thing at all.

Then we started ordering 1 or 2 new flavors every time we ordered coffee cups to make sure we'd try them all and not miss out on any better flavors because it was easy to stick to the same one, but not guaranteed that this was actually our number 1 choice unless we had tried them all. I yet have to try quite a few today, but I truly won't order any of them if they aren't at least 7, preferably even 8 in strength. Our go to is still "Sontuoso" and I yet have to find a better option after all these boxes we consumed by now, lol.

The great thing about this favorite is that it's actually one of the few cups that you can buy at every selling point so we rarely bump into stock problems and this also means we can tag along with the deals on the L'or espresso website as well as the weekly groceries who recently had the 4x3 offer. I bought 12 packs at once whenever I see these deals.

I now drink the coffee with completa coffee creamer, but I also love it with frothed milk as shown in the image above. Too bad that we had to send back our milk frother from Lidl and now have one from L'or Espresso which doesn't actually delivers frothed milk as good as the Lidl one. Funny thing is with the nespresso cups it's the other way around, I don't like those from Lidl while I love the L'or cups. Oh well, luxury problems, right?

What's your favorite coffee and how do you drink it?

You and your spouse seem to love experimenting with various coffee tastes and utilizing your L'or Espresso machine. It's fantastic that you've been experimenting with various kinds of coffee and making the most of the equipment. And you are enthusiastic about testing new coffee varieties and adoring your espresso machine. Thanks for sharing all these experiences with us.

Yeah but in the end, we get back to our favorite: Sontuoso haha. When we ordered the machine, we went to the supermarket downhill and they had a few other brands like corte ingles and starbucks there, we bought them but they lasted for months as we didn't like any of them as much as the L'or blends..

I'm sure we will find a few to throw in the mix at some point...

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope soon I can share another coffee story but it's a bit boring with the same coffees currently :) I do plan on trying to modify that failed coffee cake recipe from a while ago though, hopefully that works out..

Have a nice day!

Hello there!
That's an exciting challenge, and it's nice that you chose to do one as coffee 😍
I do like strong coffee too, and even though I tend to stick to Black coffee at home, I would like to have a frother. I see that you prefer the L'or one over Lidl. I'm a die-hard Lidl fan and will pop into an outlet as soon as I've settled back in to being in the UK. I just arrived last night after a long day of delayed flights and rerouting from Jamaica.
It's great to see you here:)

Oh, that looks so, so yummy!

The absolute best coffee I've ever had (and my favorite) is the Coconut Caramel Crunch coffee that they grow, roast, and brew on the Kauai Coffee farm in Kauai, Hawaii. They infuse the caramel and coconut notes into the beans as they roast them without adding any sweetener, it's just divine.

Okay, I love a properly pulled espresso too.

I just adore coffee lol! And your gorgeous espresso picture ensnared my attention!

Hope all is beyond well over on your side of the world😊
