Mojo's Life - Cuddles, love bites & a bucket
Happy Caturday!
Mojo's life update comes a little late once again but this only means that I have more to share because damn, this little chica grew on me for sure! I was totally in love from the first moment I saw her, let's be perfectly honest, but if you knew how affectionate she became towards me the past week, you'd know, she likes me too! I have a little head start compared to the other two in the house, and my daughter doesn't like it, she's becoming a little jealous when Mojo instantly comes when I call her or often even comes from where ever she's hanging out to me when I sit on the couch without me calling her. I just love petting her so much, she instantly starts purring when I do and it becomes an intense session of cuddles not long after I start doing so. We are true friends!
A smart little lady
A few days ago, I was petting her on the couch when the little lady was brushing her teeth in the bathroom. It was a nice session of cuddles and she was fully Zen. My boyfriend was with me at that moment and also received some extreme love when she pushed her little head against his, so cute! When my daughter opened the bathroom door, Mojo jumped from the couch, ran towards her and meowed at her as if she was telling her to come. Then she jumped back on the couch and when my daughter did as she was told (lol, after all, we are here to serve Mojo!) she replied to her with instant cuddles and allowing her to pet her too. This was such a precious moment because it seems that she wanted to say to my daughter "Hey, it's family cuddle time, you are part of my clan too, come!" and so she did.
Mornings filled with love
Every morning, the routine is now "Hey Mojo" and will be answered with meows cuddles and in my case, love bites if I'm lucky. Usually it takes her about 10 minutes of purring and demanding petting before she gently grabs my hand or finger and bites it very carefully and then looks at me with her cute head, blinking or keeping her eyes closed. She's truly adorable and I really can't imagine our home without her anymore.
On the couch
She has decided that she likes the couch better than the tile floor, I bet she's also noticing that it's getting a little more chilly some days because I'm a fan of walking barefoot but I have to put on socks quite often now as my feet get too cold nowadays. Whenever she's under the closet I just call her once and she looks at me to instantly jumps next to me. She has decided that the spot between me and the armrest is perfect to lay down and sleep or enjoy some intense petting. Thankfully she's also becoming more affectionate towards my boyfriend who was dying for her to lay with him as well, our daughter still doesn't get that she's too loud sometimes and it scares Mojo a bit. She then quickly runs towards me to make sure she's safe, lol. I don't think our daughter is doing a bad job though, on the contrary, she's doing much better than we expected and it's just a little learning curve for her and a matter of time before Mojo cuddles up next to her as well. They definitely have a connection, so I'm not worried.
Hide!
When the mechanic came to deliver our router for Fiber internet, Mojo ran to the bathroom to hide behind the sliding doors. She really seemed scared because she was shaking a bit, no idea why but she didn't even came out when I called her and lured her with some snacks. Which is odd because she always comes, and especially when we have snacks. She stayed there another 30 mins after this guy left and then decided to jump in the dirty bucket we use for the floors, lol, it's a good thing she's so good at grooming herself!. At least it gave me a funny photo moment to capture.

Awwww, I am so happy to read this! And a little jealous myself, gosh how I miss cat cuddles.
It may take some time and patience for her to realise that other hoomans are also okay. But reading how readily she now accepts her new clan, I am sure she will get there. Give Mojo some love from me!
Aaah sorry about the jealousy, but I get that part for sure! When we left Spain the last time and moved to Budapest, we weren't allowed to have cats and it was highly annoying, especially during the lockdowns. I get how you miss that <3
I don't know if it's just that or also the fact that she runs under the closet like crazy as soon as the keys go in the door and gets opened. She may have had a bad experience with a door once, I don't know. We also discovered that a bell (like on a bike) makes her respond afraid, so seems like something happened with a bike once maybe..
She is defo one of us and feels safe with us so the rest will be fine too. I will give her a cuddle from you <3

Well, thinking about the fact that about 6 weeks ago she was still a street cat so not used to humans at all, I think she's making good steps every week. Sometimes we see huge steps forward by the day. She's defo at home here and the scary response may also be caused simply by the keys in the door that makes a lot of noise and I notice that it doesn't matter who comes through the door or who goes out, this always makes her flee under the closet for some reason. Maybe a bad experience in the past when she got locked in somewhere? I wish I could ask :)

Then the door response might be easy to solve :) ... Just wait until she's hungry, then use her favorite treats instead of regular cat food?

That's fine of course :) I love dogs too just not for myself. Had them in the past, and can't resist petting a curious dog when I see one either, just don't want to have the 3 (or more) mandatory walks a day the full year :) The creatures are sweet though! I'm a true animal lover..

Animals are sincere and strong. But I'm not a big fan of animals and maybe it's because I don't like the feeling of touching them

And yes, she's well adapted and fully enjoying her life inside so it seems hehe.
We bought her a new scratching pole/bed and she is now discovering that.. will post an update later on that..
