HBD Savings Report & HPUD March 2024

Time to take out the HBD

This month's savings report looks slightly different than the previous ones because the was there to take out the HBD savings for the real life goal I was saving them for: the annual car insurance. When I found out a year ago, that we had to pay the full year of car insurance upfront, this was a big thing to swallow after going slightly over budget buying the car, as it was the best option we had and definitely the safest option in terms of not finding any hidden defects. This was a good choice, as our car passed the MOT without any issues and I'm happy we bought it.

I cut the annual fee in 12 and started saving them each month into a vault so that this year I'd not have the huge cut from the bank account or general savings to pay for the insurance. We had no accidents (caused by us) but we had 2 reports because of two other people damaging our car, of which one incident it was only registered and not even fixed.

Moving

When we had to move quickly in November, I had to loan from our own vaults to be able to buy the things we needed going from a mostly furniture (much smaller) apartment to this 3 bedroom much bigger apartment which is a lot less furnished lol. The move was again a great choice, I don't regret it one bit but I felt bad about having to use the car insurance vault fully as I was proud to be prepared for the next pay date.

HBD saving the day

Thank gawd for HBD! It has saved our asses before and while I was stacking every HBD possible, I knew this was going to be enough to cover for the insurance and therefore I would take it out as late as possible. This happened a week ago or so. Sadly, it seems that we're being screwed by the insurance but that's another story. Let's focus on the HBD savings before and now:

I rounded it up to 700 HBD and took that out fully, I left some Hive in my account at the time to buy more HSBI shares and started accumulating HBD again since:

Today was claim day and this was my total. The fact that I had close to 4 HBD waiting to be claimed was clearly because of the previous 700 being in there, this will be much lower next month.

And my new starting point for the next month is 66.121 HBD. This time I'm not sure if I will be able to save up for months again before taking it out because of the unforeseen real life costs lately, I'm actually aiming to use as little fiat for that to make sure these fiat vaults can recover properly. But nothing is set in stone, as I'm also having some other stuff up my sleeve which may bring in some good change. For now, I'm once again very grateful for being able to have a little HBD savings account of my own which pays me some interest. Gratitude all over!

Hive Power Up Day

This month I truly didn't realize that it was already the first of a new month until I read @whywhy's post. Thanks for the reminder! Thankfully, I had a bit of Hive liquids that day.

Needing some of the Hive for my silver gold stackers engagement initiative, I could not power up all of it so I only did the usual 10 Hive as I've been doing this first few months of 2024.

Done, another month of collective power up duties with likeminded people on this amazing platform fulfilled.
