Ponta da Ferraria (AZORES)-Volcanic Lava 🌋

For me, Ponta do Ferraria was one of the most interesting points of my entire trip. Personally, I had never seen Lava in its pure, untouchable state.
The place is spacious and close to the sea, something that surprised me is that some species of plants sprout on the little land between the rocks made of lava that flow over the mountain.
I was impressed by the place and all its natural beauty.
The best thing about this place is that everything can be visited without any hindrance, as the volcano is dormant.
We can see the creation of the “earth” in its greatest splendor almost in real time, without any type of humanization

From the place we can see a small islet far away but close and the large one with its green soil, in this place there is no contact with sea water just water and rock with a huge slope making it impossible for diving activities or any other type of activity in contact with the sea water

Although the lava is hardening, we can feel in this specific place the heat that comes from inside the rocks, being hot to the touch of these volcanic rocks, thus making it a must-visit place for anyone passing through the island of S. Miguel.
The textures are a little different because these rocks are in a natural state without any type of erosion from the sea, which makes them a little uncomfortable when you step on them, nowhere are they "straight" which makes it seem like they have small splinters on their face.

Next to the "wall" of the mountain with a direct connection to the Atlantic sea, it is possible to see recently flowed hardened lava.
This rock formation is made up of several volcanic eruptions that were primordial in the formation of the Azores island, in addition to small recent eruptions at the site.
The hot lava flowing over the sea solidified and "raised the land by these dark lava-toned rocks.
Unique place, there is no other place on the entire island

The place has a parking lot nearby, where we can observe this beauty with open views of the sea and the junction between the small green herbs that sprout on the rocks and the honeycomb of dark tones and blue water, thus making it a unique environment.

Very close by I found a fisherman and of course there I decided to take my camera and record the exact moment he was putting the bait on the hook, the difference between the colors of the stones and the blue of the sea is beautiful, which in this particular location, for Being rocky, it turns various shades of blue as the waves crash over it.
The place looks like something out of a movie because everything around us is black.

Anyone visiting the place should be careful because, in addition to the slope, the road is winding and tight, which for those who are not used to driving in such steep conditions may experience some difficulty both on the way up and on the way down. However, doing it on foot on the way up is very difficult and time-consuming, at the end there is a park where you can easily park and enjoy these beautiful views over all the grandeur of this place.

To this day, at my young age, it was the most beautiful place I visited, as I had never seen a “sleeping” volcano.
The experience is well worth it, and the heat that comes from the ground is something unique and inexplicable.
