When visiting Citânia de Santa Luzia on a sunny afternoon, you can experience a fascinating journey into the past. Access to the site is via a road with many curves but in good condition and you can go by car at low speed that leads to the hill where Citânia is located, very close to the parish church of Viana, which we will talk about in another post. Once there, you will be greeted by staff who will provide you with important information about the history and characteristics of the fortified city, and its respective value.

Upon entering Citânia you will come across metallic walkways that go up the entire area, it is a kind of aerial walkway that allows you to have a better idea of ​​the impressive landscape. The ruins of houses, defensive walls and other architectural structures make up an imposing fortified city. In addition, we can also observe the surrounding natural landscape, which is made up of the hill itself with many trees and the Lima river in the background.

one of the great points of interest is the defensive wall that surrounds the city. The wall has several towers and entrance gates and is one of the most impressive elements of Citânia. You will be able to walk along the entire length of the wall, observing the landscape and taking incredible pictures. Too bad it's vacant because it's from the iron age

It is important to remember that walking in Citânia can be a little tiring, especially on hot days. Therefore, it is recommended to bring water and sunscreen. In addition, the ticket to Citania costs around 2 euros per person.
