PURE DICTATORSHIP IN CANADA
JUSTIN TRUDEAU STYLE
the following item may not sound like the worse example, but it underscores what goes on in CanadaCheck out the article of the NOW Newspaper in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
The first line of the article is a request by the Lethbridge Police Service for assistance by the public in solving this crime. I just wonder if the police there know it is forbidden by law in Canada to publish news items on Social Networks such as Facebook.
Justin Trudeau ist a great admirer of the Chinese system, and seems to be doing all in his power to turn Canada into a dictatorship just like China. Perhaps even worse!
A bit of research about Justin Trudeau brought up this offering on Amazon ►
But this is not a great secret - the whole world is talking about it, like this video below, from the EU Parliament ▼
Admiring China's Dictatorship ▲ this links to the post by (former) MP Brad Trost, was posted already March 2019. Backing it up with facts, January 24th 2024 Carlton MP Pierre Poilievre posted a short 14 second video clip from the CBC.
◄ this is a copy of the actual screen shot sent to me today.
One could go on and on about it, such as this reporter from Sweden in February 2022 who writes about
When Justin Trudeau invoked emergency powers to quell protests against mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations this week, it was another sign that for Western liberal democracy, business as usual is over. This is the first time Canada’s Emergencies Act has ever beh a violent campaign of bombing, kidnapping, and murder by Quebecois separatists inen called upon by a Prime Minister. Its predecessor, the War Measures Act, was used three times: once for World War One, once for World War Two, and once to deal wit 1970. Quote
But back to the issue at hand:
it has to do with Canada's Bill C 18, the Online News Act (in force since November 2023), about which Sue Gardner at McGill University writes October 2022 (when that bill was still under discussion) - Bill C-18 is Bad for Journalism and Bad for Canada.
The stated premise of C-18 is that by making links to news material available on their sites, platforms are taking value from publishers, and so they need to be forced to compensate publishers for that value to "enhance fairness" in the Canadian digital news marketplace.
But that premise makes no sense. We know that because news publishers have always been able to opt out of appearing in Google search results, and they don't. In fact they do the opposite: they vigorously compete to maximize their presences on Google and on Facebook. News publishers want to appear on those platforms, because that's where people are finding news. When someone sees a story on Google or Facebook, and clicks on it or shares it, that brings traffic to the publisher's site, increasing its reach and its revenue. Being on Facebook and Google helps publishers. If it didn't, they would just opt out. Quote
Trudeau is not the sharpest knife in the drawer
Trudeau slams Facebook for blocking News
....after he forced this legislation through - you can't make this stuff up !!!!Trudeau, you can't have it both ways! (of course comments have been turned off), but on X (Twitter), there are enough comments such as this one:
https://x.com/IKant1805/status/1693821244976541708?s=20
So this concludes my rant - but I needed to get this off my chest! There were much deeper issues in the past, such as the Trucker Protests (listing all this stuff about what makes a dictator would take up a lot of room, but as mentioned somewhere above, there are books written about it).

On Facebook, I shared the original article. I received this comment, a screenshot showing what Canadians see:
Just curious, can Canadians see news items posted by non-Canadians?
If it is the link to news it is blocked. I posted it on Facebook from Austria and my contact wrote back it was blocked for her. So far I got no reaction posting the link to this Hive article.
OK, I have since then received a comment of my Hive post on Facebook - a Canadian friend did see it. The problem with that is the Facebook algorithm, it suppressed external links in the feed, so I don't reach that many friends. The trick around this would be to post a image of a cute kitten with a short text about the real issue, and saying something like 'check the comments for more'.
I think twitter/x does the same thing. Your post won't be seen by as many people if there is a link at the top level. Better to put the link in the comments.

I don't even live in Canada and this guy makes me angry. How is it he has been prime minister for going on 9 years now?
He needs to get out of politics and pursue his music career:
