Web 3.0 and The Metaverse - Two Worlds In One

Hi there everyone, TheRingMaster is back yet again and to continue my discussion on the future of Web 3.0, I figured it would be very necessary to touch on a topic that matters so much in the near and distant future.

It's no doubt there are truly exciting times ahead of us with the level of speed with which technology is advancing. From Artificial Intelligence led by giant organizations like Nvidia, Google and Facebook to Virtual and Augmented Reality, Cryptocurrency and Web 3.0.

Web 3.0 in itself is no doubt going to play a major role in the future but the merge between Web 3.0 and other advanced technologies will completely change the world. One technology I believe will create a huge change when merged with Web 3.0 is the Metaverse.

The topic of the Metaverse may seem a bit complicated to some people so I'll take this as an opportunity to explain in the best way I would know how to.

The Metaverse Explained

Web 3.0 is something people like to call the Internet of ownership. When it got introduced it changed the way we experience the Internet itself by giving decentralized power to the users of the platform. The user owns and fully controls the data they put in.

Of course, most of the readers of this blog would probably know a lot about Web 3.0 already and all its benefits since you use Hive and it's Web 3.0.

• So what exactly is the relationship between Web 3.0 and the Metaverse?

The Metaverse itself is more like a second world in our world. This is exactly what our future would look like. Everything that you see around you physically can have a virtual representation.

What exactly do I mean by a virtual representation?

Let's just say you're a Real Estate owner and business person. You own hotels, Rentals, Apartments and Homes. With the Metaverse being basically the next internet, you get to have a virtual world where you would have the virtual items like the same properties you own in real life but this time in the virtual world.

To me, the time Metaverse and Web 3.0 becomes globalized will be the time that Gamers will really get rich because with Web 3.0 and the Metaverse, the cars you own in GTA and the weapons you have in Call of Duty or Fortnite will have real life monetary value and can be sold for real cash or crypto tokens or even exchanged for NFTs and swapped for other items in a whole different game.

So the Metaverse in my own definition is not just the next internet but actually the second Earth which will exist amongst us.

I'm just hoping when people get used to it, they don't get stuck in the Metaverse and lose their sense of community with real people, hehehe

• The main difference between Web 3.0 and the Metaverse is that Web 3.0 actually provides the platform and The Metaverse is a social community in the Web 3.0 platform.

We will be able to do the same things we do in real life on Web 3.0 with Metaverse. From hanging out to working and even shopping. Virtual hospitals, offices, restaurants and concert halls filled with human activity, that is exactly what we are talking about. How would it feel? Well we will still be living in real life but it will feel like playing video games.

You can go to any location right from your house or office. Just like a live video call but this time, it feels more real and feels more like you're there. Talk about Teleportation.

Why It's Necessary For Metaverse to Be On Web 3.0 and not Web 2.0

I have said quite a lot this week about the importance of the future being Web 3.0 because a centralized world with the kind of advanced technologies and power of the future will be chaos. The thing is that, the Metaverse will connect us deeper than ever and would need more access to our information to do this successfully.

That level of access can create a lot of privacy and security problems if we remain centralized. With Metaverse on Web 2.0 the big tech companies will have all the control over your activities and don't get me started on what the government can do with such level of control.

This is why I believe Metaverse should thrive on Web 3.0 and Blockchain technology and I hope Hive advances to this level before Meta company does this.

The Metaverse is not all about fun, games and communication. It is also changing how things would work for us. This means that you could have your own economy and decentralized tech taking power away from big companies. This is the main point of Web 3.0 so Metaverse communities will certainly thrive well on Web 3.0.

So instead of depending on large corporations, we can start our own businesses, sell our own products and connect with people throughout the globe. How cool will that be right?

The Difference Between Web 3.0 and Metaverse

Web 3.0 is the big picture, the entire future internet and the Metaverse is a part of that big picture, where we get to hang out and socialize with friends and family without being in the same place at the same time in real life. The good thing about Web 3.0 and the Metaverse is that they’re both interconnected completely. Without Web 3.0 there would be no Metaverse and vice versa.

So obviously any company wishing to dominate the Metaverse future will have to start working with Web 3.0 meaning Decentralization is the future which I think I speak for everyone on Hive when I say that's a good thing.

Two Worlds In One

At the moment, we have one reality and in that reality we access the Internet through our smartphones and computers. However with Web 3.0 and the Metaverse's Virtual and Augmented reality technology, we would be able to create a second reality which is virtual.

As Web 3.0 becomes a reality, so will everyday life involve Metaverse technology. Just like how today we constantly use Instagram, YouTube,TikTok or play games such as Fortnite, GTA and Call of Duty, we will be living in, working in and enjoying time in the Metaverse as well. It will become a normal thing for people to enter in and out of the Metaverse.

It’s going to seem like everytime I log on it’s a whole new world and to be honest, I can’t wait for that to happen and how it would change the Hive Blockchain as well.

Web 3.0 and the Metaverse complement each other like two peas in a pod. In other words, Web 3.0 is breaking down the internet into a more decentralized system while the Metaverse tries to address the fun and advanced side of things. They are shaping the future of the internet collectively.

There isn’t any other industry I’d rather be in right now than the Web 3.0 and Metaverse industry.

So friends, fasten your seat belts because we have an amazing voyage and good times ahead of us.
