I believe one of the fastest growing piece of technology in the world right now is Artificial Intelligence, AI.

In an interview with the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, he made mention of how quickly the AI models keep improving. If ever you've heard recently of AI companies hitting a wal with limited data and slow progress of their Models, it's exactly as I called it, rumors. These companies are actually improving well enough.

Sam Altman believes that the many current problems we have with AI will eventually fix themselves as newer Models arrive. I actually agree with that statement a hundred percent. We've seen huge changes with the models already in less than a year. AI can code, reason better and even act like a reliable assistant.

I had a friend who I spoke with yesterday about her course in college. She's offering Bachelor of art at the University. What I did was to ask ChatGPT what encouragement and advice I could give her and ChatGPT was not a disappointment at all. It gave me details of her course, reading materials and websites I could recommend. Chatgpt literally assisted me to do exactly what I wanted to do which of course I would never have been able to do without the AI tool since I knew little to nothing about my friends course. That's exactly the point I'm trying to make about how good the Models have gotten.

The next phase of AI is called "Agentic AI". It goes further and does more than the current models. It's basically autonomous and smarter. Imagine AI not just booking a table for dinner but comparing hundreds of places to find the perfect match for you.

It’s like having a super organized partner handling all the little details. Just in case you've watched Iron Man before you'd be familiar with JARVIS AI which Tony Stark had in his Lab as an assist tool to building his machines. That's the point we want to get to in real life and Agentic AI can get us there.

But AI taking over jobs is a big bother to many including myself. Sam Altman admitted we don’t know where this is heading and that uncertainty is what's driving the fear for most people when it comes to AI.

Sam Altman also mentioned that companies are struggling with investments in AI and improving the models but OpenAI doesn’t seem to have that problem. They’ve got ChatGPT and people already love it. The man is very optimistic about the future of AI and believes that it'll get here sooner than we ever expected.

What I think we need to do is to adopt and adapt to AI faster. AI is transforming industries, but society isn’t keeping up with the pace.

Altman said that even when tech leaps forward, daily life barely changes. Maybe he’s right and we need to keep up with the speed of AI.
