OpenAI or Google who will Dominate AI Online Search?

I was just waiting for Google to give an answer to OpenAI's SearchGpT and they have done it. Google just gave Gemini the ability to search the Web in real-time. You guys have no idea how big of a deal that is because it means AI answers and responses to your prompts and instructions can be pulled from the freshest, latest and most factual information online and not just what the AI model has been pre-trained with.

Google has pitched this idea and concept to the developers because they want tech builders to use this search-powered AI in their own applications. It's a smart move because there's more apps than what OpenAI has built so if most developers incorporated Gemini search in their apps, Google will still be ahead of OpenAI when it comes to live search from AI. They hope to still remain the search experts whether OpenAI comes in or not.

But I think OpenAI is leading when it comes to search through AI because they're focused on the regular person that can use AI for search and not just the developers. So that means you can find out the latest sports score, the weather reports, latest news in any industry be it entertainment, finance or politics, all you have to do is ask ChatGPT and it'll give you facts.

One advantage OpenAI SearchGPT has over Google is no ads when you search and you get the information right there instead of scrolling through sites. Google has ads all over and it even kills the Internet data of people on a Internet service budget. But I don't think Chatgpt with ads will stay that way. People are enjoying the platform and it's ad free and a few pay. Maybe the funds might not be enough and they may have to resort to ads to keep making money because maintaining an AI tool like this is not cheap.

But the biggest question of them all with search and AI is what will happen to the content creator who's content is being used for OpenAI. I've talked about this in the past and I talked about the deals the companies are making.

Both Google and OpenAI have deals with some news companies to use their content, but no one knows the details and with the way lawsuits are popping up from publishers over AI using their work, things will get worse foe the creators because I don't think any single creator is powerful enough to win a lawsuit against a multi billion dollar organization.
