A Day In My Life: " Visiting Our Farmland in Barangay Paniangan"

Its been long time since we did not visit our Farm in the mountainous place of Paniangan and finally our plan is to visit our Farm again and to check our Valuable plants and crops there like Banana, fruit trees like manggoes and coconu plants. We decided to went to the place early in the morning to avoid intense heat comes from the sun and can spend lots of time there exploring the farm and checking those plants. I was very excited to be there at the place and expected to seen lots of beatiful views in the place.

There are lots of changes of the place as we arrived at the farm, the road trail was slowly covered with wild grass and wild plants. Some of the place was being collapsed because of the heavy rain and floods happened here last day. The banana plants needs to be cleaned by removing those dry banana leaves. Banana blossoms needs to cut so the fruits wont be damage. This will be a great challenging cleaning activities because the place must be clean and cut those wild grass so the plants like bananas can grow freely.

These are our Manggoe trees here at the Farm, it is located at the slope places of the mountain and my Grandmother planted this fruit trees many years already. Many times it produced lots of manggoe fruits specially during manggoe season. The last time I visited this place, there was any wild plants and grass grows underneath of the manggoe trees, but now it is already covered with thick grasses. Our plan is to clean and cut those twigs and make a fire or smoke so the insects will go away, creating smoke can make those trees produce lots of fruits even if it is not a fruit season. Instead using any chemicals, this s a good way to have lots of fruits to bare.

We also have few coconuts here and gladly some of it are already produced lots of coconut fruits, in fact we harvested it last month. My Father planted this coconut trees 29 years already and even of the areas is not really composed of soil, still it grows and produced lots of fruits. There are lots of spacious areas that needs to be planted with coconuts but it needs to clean first before planting it. More importantly is we have lots of young coconut plants ready to plant here.

Our farm is also compost of silica rocks and most of the place are only rocks. The soil was been flash away and it can't be abled to plant any kinds of crops. This road trail we have here are only rocks can be seen. We've walked here very carefully and slowly to avoid of being slipped in this big rocks. In order to plant here, the place needs to looked and search for those areas contains lots of soil.

During our farm visit I've checked the place were lots of pineapple plants grows. Gladly and surprisingly, I've seen it that some of the pineapple plants already bare pineapple fruits. I was very happy and excited to harvest it soon. As for that, I've carefully removed those sticking wild plants and vines and gladly as I count those fruits it reached up to 30 pieces. This is a kind of blessings to us here at the Farm.
