Guillermo On A Poncho

This is little Guillermo. He is a tiny ladybug and is full of curiosity and creativity. Guillermo is the friend of the piglet, Amber from my previous post. Guillermo loves to dress up like a fine gentleman and today he is meeting a close friend and decided to wear his best clothes.

Here are some process photos on how I created this character

Here I am using the piglet character as a reference so I can make the right proportions on the new one which is a ladybug character. I started with the face.

I want my new character to wear some fun and vibrant colors and shapes. A nice felt hat would be appropriate and a golden colored poncho.

I want to keep that ladybug look so I put Guillermo in a red polka dot suit. The poncho gives him an interesting look. The pom poms on the edges of the poncho are an after thought and I love how they completed the look I am going for. Hope you like it.

This challenge as you can tell requires a ton of commitment as it literally involves creating one drawing for a whole year. Never fret if you miss a day or two just try to catch up or start on a day that you can. What matters most is you have fun with no pressure creating.
