Hi hive,

I came across many instances where there was a tough call to make between lying and telling the fact. There is not one but many cases in my life and I am summing up everything here. To me lying was always an option and at many instances I have lied as well. Sometimes, instead of lying I started hiding the facts at all and presented myself as unaware of the situation. I did it many times but in these many years I found that lying isn't that helpful nor does it help in long races. Again once you get caught red handed, your integrity depletes for others.

Story and context..

There was one instance where I was in the village and the local police was searching for a person accused of stealing jewelleries and other valuable belongings. I knew it very well who did it like every person in the village. When police arrived at my door, the elders in the village told me to lie that I am unaware of the situation and in no way I am associated to it. The accused was a teenage boy, who just stepped in the world of crimes.

The entire village either lied or was avoiding spitting any facts which can reveal the identity of the accused. Police went and no case was filed or further fought in the walls of court.

Fast forward to the present..

Last year I went back to village. Coincidentally out of nowhere I asked a few villagers(residents) about the person who was accused of stealing. I came to know that he has grown up and committed many crimes. The grave one was killing his neighbour. The other crimes he committed was bribing, stealing, fighting, damaging properties, attempting to kill others as well including the political head of the block.

The moral of this story is ofcourse different, but I wanted to convey that although lying gives a temporary relief but in long race you may have sparked which can turn in to fire and burn many lives.

This was one story, that I always wanted to share with you all.
