The sun bore down on a breathless land. Not a soul moved. A noise echoed in the distance pushed forward by a rising cloud of dust. Too late on arrival. What the battle did not kill. Wild animals and vultures did.

This was a time of Empires. The technologies of today did not exist. The standards of everyday life themselves were horrific and too graphic for this tale.

The empires covered great lands. Lands that changed hands over time.

Chinese Empire, Ottoman Empire, Roman Empire. All of them had one thing in common. They were all run by an Emperor.

Then there came a time. We had Kingdoms. Not much better than the Empires, as far as the general population goes. Yes conditions in kingdoms was not much different to conditions in the empires.

We had gotten rid of the tyrannical emperors though. Now we only had tyrannical Kings.

Yes Kings ruled the kingdoms. Just like Emperors ruled Empires. King Solomon, King David, King Richard. King William, the list goes on and on.

When Emperors ruled Empires. They said we had a choice. When Kings Ruled Kingdoms They said we had a choice.

These days we have country's. We got rid of the Kings and Emperors. The tyrannical Swearwords they were. We moved from one free tyranny to another going from Empires to Kingdoms. We changed things now, We have country's.

Country's are different because they do not have an Emperor, they do not have a King. They are free.

But that brings the question that scares me.
Emperors Ruled Empires.
Kings ruled Kingdoms.
We have Country's. Who is ruling now?
