Orcanorc's Magical Journey - A Skyrim Tale - Part Twenty Two
Restless barrows
A quick trip to Whiterun was made to smelt down some ore, before making some new rings which boosts the value of items that will get sold.
Only a couple were made this time, but since this was a short stop off he only visited a couple of vendors that freed up space and got some extra gold in his pocket and then, Orcanorc headed to the Whiterun stables where he took the carraige to Windhelm.
"Ah Windhelm. There is a bone altar near here so I need to check it out and hopefully have enough bones for another skeleton summon" Orcanorc thought as they all arrived at Windhelm by horse.
When the group got down to the bone altar and he was going to summon another skeleton, Orcanorc knew that he didn't have enough bones and at the time, wouldn't be able to get a third summon. So he grunted and set out in a random direction for now, which led to a new place that looked like it would be good!
Yngol Barrow was discovered which was a cave that is guarded by a Restless Skeleton Berserker and a Restless Skeleton Guardian.
The Berserker was the first to be attacked as the kept sleeping, giving critical hits to do the mass amount of damage with swift blows, defeating it before the Guardian was fought next.. It was not aware before the first strike greatly damaged it and the blows kept coming, which the group felt like it was over.
"Nice strikes Orcanorc. They should have been awake if they wanted to protect this place" Vorstag happily said before laughing.
Just back near the water was a creature fighting one of the skeletons Orcanorc summoned, Vorstag helped to kill it off which was perfectly fine!
Of course there would be a surprise that could have done the group in should they have been a lot weaker.
Upon turning around after hearing some clattering and rattling of the bones from a skeleton they find the Berserker and Guardian now back alive once again, getting the jump on Lydia.
Some hard hits got her good as the weapons were drawn out. Even Orcanorc got hit before the Berserker was defeated for a second time from their combined strength and experience from fighting. The Guardian was next up which was defeated pretty easily, after it hit Lydia and Vorstag a couple of times.
Inside Yngol Barrow the wisps were following as Orcanorc leads the group to a room where a dead scholar, attempted to get further but somehow failed and had left notes on the order for this puzzle room.
Man in his throne, so should he be.
Whale in the sea, so should he be.
Eagle in sun's sky, so should he be.
Snake in the weed, so should he be.
While following the notes and on the left of the next door there are some weeds by a stone pillar, which got turned to be a snake. Then an open sky hole for the other so the eagle was selected. On the right side was the throne chair to be sat in which left a dropping section, the water meant whale and it was selected.
After Orcanorc sat in the throne chair, Lydia pulled the lever, which meant the door opened to the next area and the group could move on!
A couple of chests among these upcoming sections didn't have much more than a few goodies, the coral dragon claw was found here though and like the golden dragon claw, had pictures for the order of the animals in order to open up the door.
This was a tough boss battle with the Yngol's Shade. This thing packed a mighty punch and its shout was so strong as well!
"Ah crap I think I made a mistake to get in front of this thing.." Orcanorc thought before the Yngol's Shade let out a mighty shout, causing instant death from Orcanorc getting thrown back against a wall.
"We will beat you this time and you better believe it" shouted Lydia as this next attempt saw the others taking some attacks while Orcanorc used his shout to stagger it, before going into berserker rage. This along with Molag Bal's mace and the bound sword, got the job down quick enough.
It was now a successful fight to have defeated Yngol's Shade with more success, because the strategy which ensured Lydia, the skeletons and Vorstag took some damage since it could be withstood, while the berserker rage and one handed attacks could be unleashed with quick succession!
"Time to loot up this skeleton of Yngol so this trip is much more worth it. I will give you some extra gold with your next payment" Orcanorc claimed as he took the helm of Yngol, before looting the armour, boots and gauntlets of Yngol along with a highly valued, flawed varla stone.
"Looking good there my friend" Vorstag said and so did Lydia. He had equipped the Yngol armour and this stuff was amazing to wear, but longstride is required due to how encumbered he now was.. would be needing to sell off items and clear up some space so he could work and fight normally,
